  1. What a cracking day out that was. My sincere thanks to spasor for the trip (How he got up after that skinful I,ll never know) to little onions, Mike, jabee,Sand tiger,Hembo??(next time mate)for making me feel very welcome, and notlast to Colin for finding us a few fish on a difficult day. Well done spasor on a nice tope and Sand tiger for a very pretty Blonde Ray. Thanks also to Chris Goddard for his generous donation of tackle for prizes etc. Regards, BB

  2. Taking my son to the stone pier first on a fishing trip so will meet you all at about 20:oo in the Sailors. Colin has cancelled his trip tomorrow so that he will be fighting fit for Sunday. Bait is organized so bring it on. BB

  3. Hi All, Forecast looks OK down here for the weekend, showery, 2-3 wind. Little onions, can we stick the candles on a Kebab ?? Do Bream take jellies spasor?? May the fish be with us. Spasor, What time in the pub mate?? BB

  4. Alan, that will only work if you cast exactly the same distance each time surely. The best bet would be to cast out, count till it hits bottom then take of a second or so. No need to watch the line, just need to be able to count.

  5. Ruins it here in Weymouth as well, but the shallower water can still fish. The Shambles can still be OK. Suprised you got it before us though, perhaps it will miss us this year. ( Fat chance ) Best bet is anchor in deep water with BIG baits, if they can,t see it they can smell it.

  6. Spasor, Everything still OK for 9th May mate? How many are on the boat? Did I see that there were some of the "gentler" sex on board? Did you want me to order bait, it,s always wise to Paul coz it costs nothing to cancel and it guarantees you getting the worms, crabs etc. I can probably get some Hermits if you wish. BB

  7. Hi John. We used to foot-fish for flounders all the time as kids. In Weymouth there is an SSSI called Lodmoor Country Park. It is a bird reserve but there are streams running into the sea that flounder regularly came up. The water was thigh deep but you could see the fish to start with, until you got in and silted up. We walked along very slowly barefooted and would feel the fish. We had short spears made by the local blacksmith and we would gently stroke our hands up the fishes back before poking the spear quickly through the fishes head. Killed them almost straight away. This went on for years until they built the park up for tourists. The water is now polluted and only eels are there now. Hope this helps. BB
