    i didnt mention the late great dick walker,i havent read loads of his writings only a few i have an old collection of marshall cavendish "fishermans handbook" lots of old school greats articles in there ,largley re-prints from other books,but never the less i still pick up tips and insparation from them(they were published in 1978(?))still in perfect condion to passed on to me by a family friend.favourite article is ....specimen hunting by richard walker...

  3. i see toggle,weather is very good for boris at the mo,plenty of rain in stark contrast to last years low clear rivers,wheres the sun gone!?very nice pic,i love sunsets.well good luck finding boris!

STEVE nice article,i know a carp lake,we fished last summer,we got out a whip and got some maggots and worms and startting catching small perch up to about 8oz,a few up to a pound followed,and on dusk a two pounder was caught(very damn impressive!),you see no one fished for these perch,its a speci carp water,plus i know there are a loy of gudgeon in this place...you think its worth a look.it is a bit textbook..no pressure..lots of prey...the other place i was looking at trying small river that in the past has produced fours,i really want to catch one now there my bogey fish -never caught a good one,so i shall read your 3 part article,on chasing old sargent stripey!and hopefully one or two will find its way to the net.

  5. i live with mother still...but i have the top freezer on the fridge! but never are my bream n roach and evil smelling lamprey deads put in the chest freezer!oh-no!i have a kilo of halibut boilies(freezer baits),a kilo of shelf life triggas trigga pelets and several buckets of various pellets,a freezer is a must,especially for me deads!

  6. yes stewart that happens to me too,i would truely love a big chevin on the float(play em with bottle!) ..maybe at fishers...its a posibilty...peter,cheers mate,im gonna be up at weekends and odd weekday,i will say hello,(when i finaly get up there!)your doing well on the barbel front a lot of people have told me its quite tuff up there,blanks...i hates blanks..can learn from em tho.BTW theres some proper'bo chub in that river, seven pounds i hear you cry... yes please..on the float...double maggot....2.2lb bottom...hehe what fun!!

    ah-ha how true how can i forget his part in "predator becomes prey" good book that,i think (if i can get a copy) i would enjoy ET's book.
  8. nice fish peter,dont they half fight!!a fish i never tire of catching no matter what size,they all scrap to the net,i might see you up there soon peter,i'm hoping to get a ticket soon,is it very busy up there?
