  1. They removed the pay & display machine ?? Sweet :D Mind you, never seen anyone actually pay there apart from pensioners taking their dog for a walk ...

just got back from west bexington, no one is catching, just had 1 small pout
I was told similar by a local who'd been there all day - I pulled out 3 pollack & 1 Mackerel in the space of 2 hours - all keepers!

Tis one of my fave beaches

Question - have they dug up the car park ? Last time I was there they had lots of it roped off ...

  2. Missed the original thread:

All I can say is that I think the worst of this will mean that once a year deadliners for crabs or fathers taking their kids fishing on the pier for their once a year fishing trip will be hit by the "license".

Is that fair ? Is it F**K!!!!!!!

If I thought for a minute that a sea fishing license would help to protect fish - then I'd gladly pay, but it won't and I would say all sea anglers know that

    PFFfffTTT!!!!!

  3. Do you disconnect your battery when you are using your lappy connected to the mains ?

This is the most common cause of batteries deteriorating. If you keep your battery connected while plugged into the mains for lengths of time this will seriously & quickly deteriorate the life of your battery. if this has happened you will need to replace the battery & remember not to do the same in the future!!

    yupsearch.php

This is not a program (i.e. an executable program). PHP is like a HTML page that can only run on a web server that has PHP installed.

If you can explain more about where this file is & exactly how it is interfering I'm sure I can help you get rid ...

Have you checked your "Home Page" in Tools/Internet Options ? The most common way for this sort of thing is simply to add their page as your home page ...

  5. You can send the 1st payment reminder afer 3 days (if memory serves me correctly)

Personally I always stick to the minumum dates as you have to go through quite a long winded process if some cretin decides not to pay you. Even then it can take a month before you can get your listing ebay fees back.

I've had a few NPB's in the past so I show no mercy now! demon

Maybe this chap/chapess has had the same experience. Or maybe he's just a bell end! :D

    Aren't I the diplomat ??

I am sure we have agreed several times that fish do not feel pain, so what's wrong with leaving them to die naturally out of the water?
You've agreed that with who ?

The general consensus on these forums appears to be that any living creature should be treated with respect & either returned unharmed or given a swift pain free exit.

Perhaps a fish flapping around suffocating for 5 minutes might appear more palatable to you & seem less cruel to passers by, but my main concern is that of causing a fish as little stress as possible.

Done properly a fish doesn't have to be bludgeoned to death, a quick sharp tap on the head will see it off & this can be done discreetly out of sight of those who might be offended.

  7. It is straightforward enough - different banks charge different amounts though, so best to ask about their charges before you go ahead. I know for a fact that HSBC charge £9 per transaction regardless of amount.

I often have to pay a contractor of mine in the Netherlands - we both use PayPal for convenience & cheapness

To transfer money into a foreign account you need:

1.) IBAN (International Bank Account Number)

    2.) BIC (Bank Identification Code)

Another easy way it to get an IMO (International Money Order) from a foreign exchange or the post office should do it. This is a s good as cash to the recipient a they can cash in in straight away upon receipt.

Sending money International Recorded can cost you £4.20 & only guarantees delivery of the letter.

It is straightforward but may cost you a little. You shouldn't expect to be ripped off & whether you are sending £1 or £100 it's the principal of a company being dishonest or honest that maters

  8. Need recommendations on buying a priest.

Up til now I've been using a wooden truncheon (kindly donated by a policeman friend).

Since I'm now pulling in larger fish for the plate I've found a few times I've had to use 2 or 3 blows to despatch the fish, so time to upgrade to a purpose made priest methinks.

I quite fancy the 6 inch long "fit in your pocket" jobbies but am just wondering if they are going to give enough leverage out of one, or would a longer 9 inch one do the job better ?

I assume it's the weighted end that does the job ?

Change your ISP. ANY other ISP must be better than AOL.

I have to concur - being in he profession AOL are renowned for being the worst ISP going.

Get your self online with pay as you go dial up ISP, there are tons around, you don't have to sign up often but just use their dial in number 7 generic logon details.

It is not a problem with your PC but something that AOL is causing.

  10. Just had a bag of Revels for the 1st time in 6 months & to my horror I doscover they now have raisns in it !!! demon

    WTF is going on ?

Raisins are for women, like pasta salad & bleedin' Lambrini!

Next thing you know, they'll be renaming a Marathon bar!!

  11. Caught a mackerel from West Bexington & stuck it in the freezer for about 10 days.

When I got it out to prepare it I noticed that there were no scales on it!

Handy as it's one less job to do, but now (after I've eaten it) I'm wondering if it means it had scabies & now I'm gonna get the clap ??

Maybe there's a natural reason for it ?

    Seems a little odd ...

  12. As an intermediate sea angler the word "Multiplier" is like saying "Dog **** curry" to me. There is nothing that would tempt me to use one, but a ton of things I hear & read that would make me avoid one.

Most of the time distance casting is not necessary & I think there is a lot of macho posturing about distance casting (?) Is this all a multiplier would add to my angling ?

I do have quite bad eyesight & unless daylight conditions are good I quite often don't see my lead on a FS splash down, but go more my judgement & sound.

I'm not very happy with my casting length with my FS rods but put that more down to a cheap rod rather than my reel.

    What say you veterans ?
