  2. Slodger Totally agree and my apologies for the misunderstanding. Education is the key for all aspects of fish care. Happy to debate keepnets and other fish safety issues on a new thread if you wish but I don't want to take this thread over with a different, emotive issue.
  3. Slodger Think I've got the hang of irony and sarcasm but can you explain stating the bleeding obvious, or do you believe that keepnets do not damage fish if misused?
  4. Without wishing to hijack the thread for another keepnet debate please use common sense. Keepnets can damage fish badly if misused. They are a neccessity for match fishing but otherwise should only be used with great care to ensure the welfare of the fish. Gaze at the fish you catch, admire its beauty, feel proud that your skill outwitted nature, and thrill as it swims back into its natural surrounds none the worse for meeting you. [ 02. 5. Jim Forgot to add that Kingfisher stretch is also a cracking chub venue and probably the most secure parking I know of, rather different to Teston though! [ 02. September 2005, 08:27 PM: Message edited by: Carl Douglas ]
  6. Matt Small world, congrats on the match results. Fished next to Stuart Cott a couple of days after I saw you and had one of the Medway supprises we discussed, just over 3lb. Carl
  7. Jim Teston is now probably a better chub venue now than ever before, certainly in the 20 years I've been fishing it. There are rumours of a 7, but I have no evidence so I'm not sure but have had several over 4 this season plus one or two suprises! Drop me a pm if you want more details on areas and so on.
  8. Thanks Gents Both web sites interesting. Are you fishing the waters yourselves? I have fished both clubs for a number of years but only match fishing. Having become a born again pleasure fisherman I'm trying to get an idea of whats being caught outside the 10 til 3 sprat bashing world, possibly leading to a pooling of knowledge on the waters if people are interested. Once again thank you for responding to my first link. Carl
  9. I'm trying to find out about the quality of fishing on the various Maidstone Victory and Kingfisher waters. Can anyone give me an idea of the species/sizes being caught? All help and info would be gratefully received [ 26. October 2004, 10:26 AM: Message edited by: Carl Douglas ]
