Hello Barry,
I agree entirely with your sentiments but this reel is for a friend who has a normal RH 113H and who prefers to fish LH which is something he has done from his spinning days. He was going to buy a 113H2 which is Chinese made and is different mechanically in many ways from the USA reels,"cheap" would really be how I would put it. I said I would try and get him a USA Made 113H LH which shares similar parts to his existing reel apart from gears ,star and bridge.
Personally for all the fish I catch in the UK and Ireland today my trusty Penn 112H fits the bill and has served me well for nearly 50 years. I have an old 9/0 somewhere which is ideal for slowly hauling skate and 2lb leads up from great depths but unfortunately that is only a fond memory now.
Still looking for a good Penn 113H Right Hand made in USA reel and a nice Penn Squidder for myself.

I've got a Penn 113HN Baja Special. It is used but in good condition. Comes boxed with tools etc. I fancy getting a twin speed for going after skate on the Kayak so would be happy to sell this to part fund a new reel.
How much are they worth.
Simon
Tried (unsuccessfully) sending you a PM.

If you buy from TackleBargains.co.uk, I'd be over the moon if you could use this link:

Some might use the argument to use it or loose it. With regards to your local tackle shop. How very true Barry. The lengths to which some anglers will go to save a few bob never ceases to amaze me. Tight as a ducks uno they are.Yet when their reel pack in they are off crying to their local tackle shop and expecting immediate service.

Look on Ebay for some Winfield "International" reels in the sizes you want.Good copies of the Penn's and cheap to get.
Thank,s for that BUDGIE.

Wanted, Penn 3/0 Special Senator 112H boat reel.

OK, I'll look next time I go in there but to be honest, there's better reels out there now.
I agree Norm, only want one for spares. I use a Trinidad TN16 now, lighter, faster and beautifully engineered.Cost a little more than the Penn though!

I've had one for years but haven't seen it for ages, probably moved it on or it's "somewhere in my garage", I'll look after Christmas if it's important:D .
Hi Norm,it's not important, won't be boat fishing again until the spring,Happy Christmas, gannet.

I'm disappointed, thought there may have been an old "Made in USA" model out there somewhere and surplus to requirements.
