  1. Hi Terry1956

If it makes you feel any better have a look on www.kayakfishinguk.net your not the only one with a leaky yak  My Caper was leaking through the scuppers as well, but Brighton Canoes had it Exchanged it within 10 days I had no problems with Johnson's at all and I paid the difference and went for p13 so far so good :P

  2. Hi Speciman, I managed to get around 6hrs with the fish finder and the navigation light. The light started to get very dim after about 5 hrs but I had the fishfinder setting 's set to the Maximum :)

The light should be visible for up to 2 miles I'm also going to put a high viz flag on the mast

Well I'm off to try out the new prowler down in Hythe Kent hopefully might bag a few fish.

  3. Hi Speciman, the mast has arrived yesterday and tomorrow I am going to wire up the light and fish finder to see how long it will last? :) . The mast fits inside no problem at all but that's with the hatch on the new prowler :) but now I have a prowler do i change my name to the essexprowler :D:D

  4. Hi Speciman, I have just bought off eBay Item no a 4579873251 48 inch high navigation light on a pole which I am going to run on the same battery as the fish finder hopefully?. I have also been on 4 trips now and the 3m reflective tape seems to be holding up well .So far the best light I've found doesn't grow on trees it grows on the red cones on the A12 :D .All you need is a yellow flashing light that grows on the top of Red cones take out the diode that makes it flash and it fits perfectly into the cup holder and it gives out a warm glow that lights up around the cockpit area :D:D and now for the nightmare do i remember how to post the pics

  5. Hi Hungry that's my local spot I haven't had much luck this year the fishing been very quiet along that part of the coast :( the ramp that you mentioned is a nightmare at weekend's with jet skis  i'm going to try along the warren this Sunday come out of Folkestone harbour turn right .I think its about a mile away I have been told there's a good chance of catching some bass

  6. Hi Hungry I bought a Hummingbird PiranhaMax 15 Fishfinder off eBay from the USA cost £53.00 + delivery and then I got stung with the Duty.Apart from that it works great I have the Transducer in a block of foam and use a dollop of Vaseline works a treat. If you fancy meeting up I'll be in Dymchurch over the weekend and fishing from Folkestone on sunday.

  7. Hi Hungry well done on your first trip :) next you will drilling holes in your yak for your rod which can be scary at first i'm off to Folkestone the at the weekend I have been told by the local tackle shop of a reef about mile offshore weather permitting I'll give a go. I also picked up an Anchor yesterday fingers crossed I might have it rigged up for the weekend? if you fancy a paddle give us shout .

  8. Hi I never access the hatch when I'm at sea mind you its seems easy if you sit side saddle,my pfd has 3 pockets which I keep flares, whistle, etc

its also has a large pocket on my back where I keep a first aid kit I haven't got a radio but I keep my mobile phone in a Aqua's pack around my neck. The rods are Diana Spinning Rod and small boat alb to 20 lb which fit in the hatch easy when broken down It all depends on the surf when I'm going out if its nice a calm I'll launch the yak with the rods in the tube's on the cool box when I'm coming back if the surfs up I lay rods down in the boat and wait till I'm in about 3 feet of water and then jump out otherwise I find there's a good chance of tipping over.I never take a tent with I have never tried pitching up a tent half a mile off shore where would you bang in the pegs :D:D
