  1. Hi RS

I Carry 3 yaks(1 mambo 2 P13) on my car with 1 set of uprights with no problems if you are only carry 2yaks put one each side and fix with 2 sets of cam straps for added surecurity use bow and stern straps

  2. Hi martin got my rack from halfords for my focus about £70 dont worry about weight focus and rack are rated at 75KG you might want to use bow and stern straps as well as strapping it to the roof bars as the bars are quite close together I usually travel with 2 prowlers and 1 mambo on mine with no problems I used to get a lot wind noise on the straps but someone suggested twisting strap and that has cured it hope this helps

  3. Good pics, How strong is the currant in that area and can you make any headway, trying to gauge what is maximum flow you could go against and still make headway suppose it depends on how fast you could paddle as well.Re. 3rd picture how have you sealed the hull after you have climbed in :D:D:D .Could we have some surfing pictures next please, :D:D:D thanks again for good action pics

  4. I've got some spare bungs so I will give it a try only prob I can see is keeping a loop in string to pass wire through, might need to use somthing to keep it open, like the idea about silicon you could use cling film to stop it sticking and use loop and pin to hold it you might be able to match silicon to colour of yak

  5. Hi. All

In touch with Andrew at Johnson's today very helpful and informative in respect to NZ V US yaks as detailed in Bills email response seemed also concerned about fixing screws in the handles(some have 4 some have 2),anyway have got 2 new prowlers coming friday, so they will drop off and pick up same time. He did say that as a temp repair you could get a big dollop of sealant on your finger and wipe it round the scupper hole but how long it would last for I dont know.I agree with jaffa that someone from johnson's on the forum would be very helpfull

  6. Hi All

Been out on Windermere today try out wifes new prowler 13 put some duck tape on mine not a drop of water inside as for the wifes I think it will make a better submarine when we got it out there must have been 3 gallon inside futher inspection reveal another faulty join on one off the scupper holes water was p***ing out its not good this we could have been out at sea, Quality Control is pathetic must be a problem with them. I dont think these are NZ yaks I had a frenzy a couple of weeks ago and that one had proper warranty sheets with sn numbers stamped on yak got the wifes from different shop than mine so have sort out both im going to ring Johnsons as well to get 2 like this it does make you wonder if somebody has brought in a batch of sub standard ones.

  7. Made these tonight for P13 seat area got them from home brew shop think these are off demijohns

front cockpit ones are smaller so wine bottle ones might fit, these were 80p + old shoe lace, hole was made with heated drill bit
