I dont think it has been taken upon themselves.
The SIT on top course was a great loss when red tape stopped it.Alot of members on AA wanted it brought back. But the only way was to do it legally and with Insurance. The AT offered to supply the relevant courses and insurance which was a bonus(The BCU was approached and they basically didnt want to know). Its peoples own choice if they join the AT or not.Kayakers are not being represented by anyone so I dont know where all that came from. The AT speaks on behalf of all anglers.Thats if you want them to.You have a choice.
Its all been blown out of proportion by the odd few hell bent on causing caos on forums.Every forum has those people.
PBSBAC (are members of the AT) which have a kayak section. We were made very welcome over a year ago, and now get the chance to fish club boat comps. They have changed the 2 man rule to suit us.As long as 2 kayaks go out together and are at a safe distance to assist if need be then we can fish club comps.
There is none of this bickering amongst members. Most are AT members, but not all.
who on earth gave poole boat club the mandate to represent kayakers with the AT .

AT just to get some dodgy recognition of their kayaking and fishing skills to be able to continue the sot courses
recognition from the ukcc stuart , hardly dodgy , infact the same body that provide the recognition of the bcu A lot of emotional comments being banded around but glen has it right i think. I wouldnt loose any sleep over it whatsoever.
if you want a sleepless night stay up and watch the thrashing in adelade

what a true numpty not only tips over trolling a couple of plugs on a placid lake but has no clue what to do in the event - not even an attempt at self rescue. A fool lucky to be alive

We still lurk on here marra
Good luck bill ( bit like the moment boycott hung up his bat )

Of course he deserves some credit , 100 launches is a heck of a lot - still got to get your arse off the comfy sofa

cant agree with you there captain crazy. Be lucky enough to live next to the sea like Mark and its easy to launch here and there for a few hours. However , is that any more meriticious (big word!!) than someone in say Leicester traveling 3 hours to the coast each way and staying out for 10 hours. maybe once a month?? The beauty of this game is that theres no pressure , just take it at the pace that suits you me?? I could launch everyday at work , two or three times a day!!
-
nicely put . Take care all
-
LIKE EVERYTHING MATE its what you do with it that counts - couldnt agree more
now the memory aint what it used to be but was it you that fell out of your bic on culver spit with no PFD on

A Bic They've been riducled on here but I'd love to see some rigged out photos

great fishing what yak do you paddle?? How on earth did you paddle back with those Time to get a camera and get some proper action shots

Its a quite common trip for our local canoists. Unfortunately these clowns have brought it to everyones attention and ruined it for everyone Drive within 10 miles of the reservoir with a clog on the roof and your likely to be stopped now. The end result is that they've turned the flow down as well!

A 'real' anchor, i.e a grappling anchor is only of any use when it is around 3lb or so in weight.
Knew I'd been doing it wrong for 4 years

Tidy , always amazes me how small bass will take big plugs

Have a look at the number of views to each post, and the number of replies, yup, hardly any replies. I wonder why people are keeping out of this forum! Hardly any posts about kayak fishing, some about equipment, all from the same small group, lots of arguing, same small group, and I'm off. I've found much better forums than this.
When I mention my nice Bic kayaks, I just get abuse, friendly or not. You all deserve each other, and you can have each other, I'm off, and I'm going fishing, and keeping it to myself.
Don't really see the need any more to engage in this sort of drivel, best of luck chaps.
Sounds like a commercial advertising stunt to me! Can this forum be used to blatently advertise a product?
YOU STARTED IT MICHAEL

Ah Andrew , the power of the internet and my inability to link brain to index finger
Its a shame that the forums are becoming saturated with OK products
What I meant to say is its a shame that other companys dont market their products as pro actively as OK , not that there is anything wrong with OK's marketing tactics A bit of balance would be nice but lifes not like that.

British champion
no only the anglers afloat champion
Same thing

Thanks fellas - brightened up my day for my two pennys worth
Its a shame that the forums are becoming saturated with OK products , but thats down to the poor marketing of the other manufacturers!! For example I( and some other local yakers) were asked by another manufacturer to take out their yaks for a fishing photoshoot in April ( a poor month around these parts) we declined saying June/July would be better , no contact since . We've seen another major player enter a team in the british comp and they were using other companies kayaks . If anyone from any company ( except Bic and emotion (they sink in Wales ) is reading this drop me a kayak for testing

your anchor should be viewed as an essential safety item. Loads of scenarios that it could prove useful eg you pull a muscle , or get taken ill. If you dont use it just pop a small 0.75kg in your crate.
