  1. Sorry Davy, you will have to go back a bit further than the 50's to find carpers using trebles, even for spuds. Large single and a baiting needle did away with trebles even before I started in 1950 :)

As for the rest of the post by Arnold, I shall ignore it ....................

Why blame the shop staff, iv'e been offerd scottish £5 notes in with my change & have refused them for the same reason, you have a job getting shop's to take them. you should have changed them in scotland before you came home.

  4. OI OI,

It's the only way to go as far as i'm concerned, we should be building them all over england & get rid of the windfarm idea cos there a bloody mess on the skyline & not practical, Every home should be fitted with solor panels on your roof but im all for nucklear power. never mind us we got to start thinking about our grandchildren.

I agree with sandpiper when my son left the army he was a fiberoptics engineer, but wasn't happy so took to driving as the licence he holds is from h.g.v. right down to a motorbike (army taught) the long & short of this is he found a job he was happy with BUT had to travel 3hrs a day round trip but did multi drops all over the north & scotland one place he deliverd to was 5min from his home he asked if they had any jobs doing exsacly the same work & was well liked by this company (only through his delivery's) now he workes for them on better wages, new truck, & 5min from home.

to say im proud of him is an understatment, always smiling time for everyone he's a good son.
