Hi All
Hope all is well with all of you.
Have created a blog dedicated to carp fishing around the bournemouth/dorset area, I hope over the next few months to build it up, so it is a useful resource for any carp angler in the area. Please check it out and leave any comments or suggestions of things you would like to see.
Heres the link:

Hi guys
Just a quick question, I am looking at making my own sweetcorn and hemp boilies, nothing special I know. However has anyone got any suggestions as the best hemp oil and sweetcorn extract that I could use. Gunna get myself a boilie rolling stuff and give it a go. Gunna make 12 mm boilies.

Hi All
After what seems like years, i have final solved the getting out of the bivvy at night and footwear problem, a false pair of crocs, no real great break through as i know that alot of you use them already.
However, they have like all crocs have holes in them, I am looking to seal all the holes to make them water proof. I was thinking about covering them in water proof tape but tried it and the tape comes off when they get wet.
So does any one know of a plastic resin that I could paint the crocs with after i have covered up the holes to seal the tape/or what ever i use in place to stop the tape from coming off and keep my feet dry. I do wear sealskin socks but am looking for full protection.
Cheers guys

Not sure if I have mentioned this before but, I watched Dawn of the dead, the remake, about 2weeks before for I went fishing a few years back and the scene where the zombie come out of the water springs to mind when I am playing a fish at night. Real head F**K.
Also keeps thinking, I wonder if there is a croc in the lake I am fishing??
Cheers

Cheers Phone. Have made a copy of that and have put it in my fishig file.
Have decided to buy some. The reason I asked was have final managed to gte hold of some mailine pulse boilies and wanted the paste to go with, while I was at it brought a pot of the pop ups to. I understand that mainline has stopped making the Pulse line now, shame as it is my favourite Boilie never not caught on it. Guess will have to find a new one soon, Did however buy 3kg of pulse and am planning on gettting a couple moe kg and storing it in the freezer (wife will not happy, as i will be taking up the space)
Cheers for the help there guys, great as usual.

What is the best joke you have played on some one you have gone fishing with.
Mine was hitching a 1lb fishing line up to another friends bite alarm and pulling it now and then.
Naughty STC

Me and a mate tied 1lb fishing line on to another friends fishing line, bite alarms and crept back about 100 metres and gave it a tug every 5 minutes or so, kept my friend very busy for a couple of hrs until he heard use giggling like school girls behind a bush. I seem to recall that he was less than impressed not because of the joke as such but because it was 2oclock at night and he had no sleep for 48hrs.

Tis true would not buy a set of rods without trying them out in the shop first, I do tend to buy from the internet quite alot, however saying that I NEVER buy a set of rods from the internet with out trying first.

Afternoon all
Need a bit of advice here, My mate has just started carp fishing, he only goes 3-4 times a year due to family restrictions (just like me) he does not have alot to spend on his gear and wants to buy a set of wireless carp alarms for the about £60.
We had a look yesterday but I am no really expert on bite alarms and was looking for a bit of help so I can pass it on to him.
Any suggestions on makes that we should look at or ones that we should avoid would be great.
Cheers all

To be honest I would use a long hair and pop up instead, the ideal behind the chod rig is the curve you make in the stiff link material, because braid does not have that ability you can not make that curve.
What is the lake bed like you are fishing over I assume it is weedy ?
Another option would be to fish the method but make sure that the lead can fall away once you get a run. Or make a small pva bag or stick and bury the hook in it, this should get you throw the weed and make a good presentation of your hook bait.
Sorry I can not be any more help.
Cheers

Hello
To be honest I have tried it with braid and it was not great, you simply do not get the desired presentation with braid, tried using mono as well and again not impressed with it as kinks all over the place,.
Am afraid that stiff link material is the way (esp stiff link is ideal) to go and choddy hooks is my advice. It is worth spending the pennies as you get the desired result.
I would buy the materials and make them, if you are not sure how, there are plenty of good vids on You tube.
Sorry got a feeling this is not gunna help you but that is what I have found when using braid to make chod rigs.
