food and water is one thing i agree.
but can you eat a tv or stereo? as they were the first targets.
i don`t think they want to shoot anyone desperate for food,i am sure those people would be glad to see the military shoot the armed gangs of scum before they kill or rape anyone else.

if you look under the bonnet up the back over the battery side wheelarch there should be a small oval plate with the number on.
oh and if you need the cambelt done (wise if you dont know its history)renault would charge £320 to replace it.
if your good with a spanner you can do it yourself,i did mine but it involves removal of the grille,front top crossbar/plate,and radiator to get at the cam cover.
its straightforward after that.
however replace the powersteering belt at the same time as it is fitted BEHIND the cambelt,probably for the belt cost do the lot while you can get at them!

squidlips you say the one you done was on the bulkhead?was it a newer model? the f-reg has it mounted on a cross member however it is in the same area.the haynes manual "says"it will come out the side and can be done,however i am not a qualified mechanic and i have never done one and am more than willing to believe its a pig of a job.

don`t know where squidlips gets the bit about engine out to replace the steering rack? it should come out the side.
but some parts are expensive i hope your radiator hoses are good, i just had to get the 2 main hoses from engine to radiator,i could not get any aftermarket ones.they were ALL missing in the scrappy and ihad to give renault £86 for the 2.
but if you compare the facelifted mark one to the mk2 j reg on,the mark 1 is built better and stronger.

a lot of the cheap petrols use a plastic deck.try to avoid them as they shatter if a stone hits it.some do have a metal deck but i cannot remember which is which.

try your sim in another phone first as the upgrade may seem a fancy high tech wiz-toy but for signal may be crap.

would think you have to use it on manual settings as a lot of filters would upset the auto?
not too certain as i only ever used a proper manual camera.

i know what you are saying poledark but man u (although i hate to say it)did have the better team on the day,so even though it went to penalties for the first time ever,it was a great performance to beat a better team.
