Stavitte Grey Duster fly rod 8ft 4 section travel rod. AFTMA 4/5.
Carbon IM8 (burgundy blank), snake guides + lined stripping guide. Polished rosewood reel-seat, uplocking aluminium fittings. Comes with cloth bag and hard case.
Roughly 25 1/2 inches each section. 28 inches when stored in hard case.
I sold one of these about 6 months ago on here, and i have 1 more.
Apart from a waggle in the garden it's unused, still has plastic protector on the cork handle. bought a pair of these about a year or so ago for my wife and i to go fly fighing on holiday. I'm having a clear out of tackle that i no longer use (more to come) Cost me about £60-70.

I know the vast majority of anglers here would not discard tackle at their arses. But if you see it left on the bank please pick it up.
I know it's a pain when we have to pick up thoughtless peoples crap, but news stories like these do us no favours at all.

My most surprising has to have been while pike fishing a big Scottish loch about 8 years ago. I was using whole joey mackeral as bait (probably 10 inches in size) and i'd caught a few small jacks. The i got the most un-pike-like take, it was savage. After a very strange high speed fight, i landed a browny of 5lb 2 oz. The best wild trout i've ever caught, just a shame it was on a pike rod.

It's good for people listing at 99p and expecting to sell for a low amount. It's not good for anyone else unfortunately.

Old fees in a normal category would have been : £11.55
Old fees in technology category would have been : £6.17
New fees in any category are now £20.00
This change only affects private sellers though, business sellers fees are unchanged.

No bream in Loch Fitty, it was sad day when it officially closed down
But plenty people still fish it.I suppose it could be Loch Gelly, but i've only heard of the usual suspects from there e.g. roach, perch, pike and a few trout. I can only think of 1 Loch on Fife that contains bream, but it's a small club water.
And how big is big? Anything under 1000 acres here is a garden pond to us

On the subject of out of date food.
I recently called food standards about my local Tescos selling food past it's date. However what i didn't realise was that it isn't actually illegal to sell food that is past it's "best before" date. So if that's the case you're stuffed unfortunately. If however the food has a "use by" date then what they are doing will get them a big fine.
So things like cakes etc that have "best before", they could sell them outwith the date (although they state that it is accidental if they do), but meat and fresh produce that has "use by" date is a call to food standards

I use 30lb Fox Carboflex for all my pike fishing. TBH it was the only wire I have found that can withstand fly casting and last a few fish.
Never tried 49 strand and bet there are some really nice traces out there, just stuck to what I found has worked
I'm the same, i've just stuck to what has always worked for me. Drennan 7 strand in 28lb. I've never had a trace fail so i have utmost confidence in the stuff.
I know it kinks after every fish caught, but i replace traces after every fish anyway so that's not really an issue for me. I once gave a fox wire a go, i forget it's name, but it was marketed as being so fine and flexible you could knot it. I didn't get on well with the stuff so went back to good old Drennan confidence.

The trouble ebay are having, is that buying knives from there is anonymous, and all too easy.
If you have a look at YouTube/Myspace/Bebo or any of the social networking type sites. Teenagers openly post pictures of themselves posing with knives/swords etc because it's a cool thing to do apparently. See : http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/the_p_wo...000/7852248.stm
If ebay preventing sales of these weapon types makes it slightly harder for them to get hold of a "cool" rambo hunting knife, then i think this can be a good thing. People after legitimately legal knives etc can still obtain them, but face to face, preferably where the vendor can ask for, and see proof of age. A 12 year old isn't likely to be entertained buying dangerous weapons like these from reputable shops.

I assume that was without storm poles? With all four poles in use, it'd take a tornado to flatten a JRC Stealth!
I think my one was probably pre stealth (8-10 years old maybe?). It was fine so long as the wind was from behind. Anything from the sides had it buckling as the ribs would bend, even with the poles attached.

I used to use one of the JRC brolly systems. It was big enough for my bedchair and a bit of tackle and nice and quick to set up. Good for quick overnight sessions as it was quick to get up. The downside was that i wouldn't use it during autumn/winter as they're not really that robust and wind tends to flatten the thing.
Nowadays i use a Nash Titan Viper, a bit bulkier yes, but still quick to set up and the thing is bomb proof. I've happily fished in the dead of winter (In Scotland) It keeps me dry and warm and i don't have to worry about the wind during the middle of the night as it's rock solid.

Oh and i forgot to mention something else. It is only £7.50 per month AND the you get a nice free wireless router.
Good job too as my ageing original ADSL1 router needed replaced with an ADSL2 compliant one.

some take the pee ,i'v had to up my ebay postage a bit now ,not only the cost of the wrapping materials but a bit for the petrol in an 6 mile round trip to the nearest post office.
a 24mpg car drinks a bit so it all adds up ,for bigger items though its at courier cost as its picked up.
i'v had complaints about postage even when its clearly on the label it cost more than they paid so you cant win ,i sell a few lamps unless they are very well armoured the nice postie at the depo's football game with them breaks them so whilst the lamp itself if fairly light (light snigger) the whole package is heavier.
i used to charge at postage cost but bubble wrap and brown paper along with a hefty length of parcel tape adds up.

I signed up for 02 broadband about 6 months ago and i've only got good things to say about them.
They use a UK call centre. One of my bugbears is when phoning up for some technical/CS issue only to end up speaking to someone in Mumbai..
Best bit is the price compared to the others. I allready use an O2 mobile so they give me a discount on my broadband, so it works out at only £7.50 a month.

I've got 3 Interceptors in the 50 size that I use for piking and a 30 size epix that I use for floatishing.
I quite fancy Shimano but have never understood their numbering system. Which is the smaller size?
The smallest Shimano i think is this one :
The 4010. Just for comparison i took a photo next to a standard 6000 size shimano. Admitedly it's not a huge amount smaller, but i use it quite happily on my avon rod, and it balances well.
Unfortunately Shimano havn't made these in years, but i think the current 5000's are similar'ish in size.

I always enjoy looking in the photo forum. I rarely enter the competitions, but always enjoy looking and voting for other peoples photos. I'll try and make a point of entering something in the future.

My first memory of fishing was when i was probably 5-6ish.
I was on holiday with my parents in Stonehaven, and my older sister and i were taken down to the Stonehaven harbour where there happened to be a kids fishing competition about to start. My dad being a keen fisherman, duly entered us both and everyone was given a short little rod and reel to begin. If i remeber correctly everyone just dropped their lines down the side, near the harbour entrance.
And then it happened after about an hour of boredom, i caught my first ever fish. It was a coley (coalfish,saithe whatever you want to call it
) and it must have weighed in at a good 4-8ozs. This was the only fish i caught, and i doubt it would have framed in this grand contest. At the weigh in i was given a bag a sweets, probably because i was just one of the young 'uns. This i seem to remember was the highlight, as i can't actually remember being particularly enamoured with this fishing thing
I've been back to fish and holiday in Stonehaven in my adult years since, it always brings a smile to my face
