Here is a table of AFTM Line weights and tolerances. The weights are for the first thirty feet of line.

1 WT line: 60grains range54-66

2 " " : 80 " " 74-86

3 " " : 100 " " 94-106

4 " " : 120 " "114-126

5 " " : 140 " " 134-146

6 " " : 160 " "152-168

7 " " : 185 " "177-193

8 " " : 210" "202-218

9 " " : 240 " "230-250

10" " : 280 " "270-290

1 Gram = 15.43 grains

1 Gram = 0.0355 ounces

Thirty feet of #5 wt line ( The FIRST thirty feet, including the taper ) = 0.32 ounces or

9.07 grams This means that a rod rated at AFTM #5 should cast a 9 gram weight perfectly.

In practice, the actual weight the rod will cast perfectly is quite a bit higher, ( often as much as one hundred percent higher) due to the tolerances built into the rod
