baiting at night?

is it worth it or will i more likely spook any fish in the swim .the reason im asking this is the lake i fish is quite shallow avarage of around 6ft .the swans on the lake cause major probs.even with rock hard baits they still chew it of the hair :mad: ,they will clear a baited area in the blink of an eye .i dont feel really confident fishing singles but will if i have to.

any help would be great.

I've yet to see a swan that can pick a bait off the bottom in six feet of water, but I've seen plenty that will feed at night. The only answer is to stick to the deepest water.
