Lower Dorset Stour

Hi guys

 

This Saturday I am off on my annual fishing holiday for a week, and this year its to Christchurch. I will be staying at a campsite called Meadowbank which has the Stour running through it.

 

Just after some advice on what would be best to target this far down the river really. From what I have gathered the river here is a bit deeper and slower than the Throop fishery. Its the stretch downstream of Throop beat 3 and upstream of Iford bridge. The website for the camp shows a guy holding a large Barbel, but I wonder whether this is a rare catch, and maybe I would be better targetting chub with bread for instance.

 

Any knowledge of the area would help me greatly.
