hello all, anyone doing any beach fishing around the cumbrian coast.am new to it and aint catching nothing!any advice on locations and rigs would be much appreciated.cheers everyone.

Port carlisle is always good for flounder. Mackrel is the best bait in my opinion. Rig shouldnt matter too much, probably a 2 or 3 hook flapper. Ive been to beckfoot twice and had no luck. But other people were catching bass. They used black lug dug up from Flimby.

This is a good website to try: http://www.whitbyseaanglers.co.uk/sea-fishing-in-cumbria.php

Dependant on your location, try Whitehaven piers (north & west) for Dabs, dogs, small whiting, plaice.

the beaches south of St Bees i.e Seamill, coulderton, netherton, Braystones, Sellafield, Drigg, Eskmeals, Silecroft, Kirksanton all fish, some better on a low tide others on a high tide.

Workington black bank and flimby are ok on a low tide

all these venues should produce bass and possibly early winter cod along with Flounder, plaice, dabs, dogs, eels
