Has anyone fished, or even heard of, Bodham Pit in North Norfolk?

I saw it featured in an edition of "On The Fly" with John Bailey.

It looks stunning, and I would rather like to go and see it if that is allowed.

Many thanks in advance.

I have not been there but John Wilson (Definitive Guide on where to fish in Norfolk & Suffolk) says 'Old Marl Pit around half an acre with steep banks. Deep at one end and can be extremely weedy at times.Holds a good head of Crucians and the occasional wildie (Common presumably) along with Tench and Rudd. Day tickets £1.50 from Post Office in village stores. Tel 01263 588209 for additional info.' The book is 8 years old now so a phone call would be advisable to check the details.

I used to fish it quite a bit a few years ago, full of genuine "wildies" nothing very big, but great fun catching them off the top in the evenings. The deepest end is the left hand side.

  • 1 year later...

Its a good little lake. Tickets are available from the post office in bodham or the red hart pub (in bodham), you'll get directions there too.

A good stock of carp and roach (includign crusians), and some carp nearing double figures (and possible even into the lower teens). The fish are always biting.
