Alcocks Match Aerial

I have one of these reels and a joy to use it is too. I would be interested to know it's approximate time of manufacture. I believe it is a 60's model but what are the differences between these and earlier reels? There is a pattern number on the reel but I've forgotten to bring the number in to work where I'm mailing from.

Thanks

Paul

I agree Tinca. If I had to use one reel for the rest of my life, it would be my old Allcocks Match Aerial. And that in light of a recent purchase of the Chris Lythe too!!!

I believe they were made from 1965-1971, and were made by JW Young, as were many/all? of Allcock's post-war reels.

I believe the last models were sold under the Shakespeare banner, who bought out Allcocks at the end of the sixties.

Have a look here for more..
