Here's one for all you lure anglers out there replace the tails on shad with feathers to get explosive takes from perch and chub

I mostly use that method on top water lures. Typically I will replace the rear treble with a treble hook that has the feather built right to it.

 

This gives a more subtle presentation with the way the strands of feather will slowly move with the slightest motion of the lure.
