Todays fishing

I promised myself last night as my daughter didn't want to go fishing today that I would get out and return before she woke up... That promise included getting up at 3am.. Instead I found myself booted out of bed for snoring too loudly (apparently those breathe right strips only work on selective nights). So up at 130am instead surfing AN then off to a chat somewhere in Indiana on a walleye website. Out the door at 4. On site at 410. Caught nowt until I foul hooked a perch about 6 then nothing again until about 730. Small pike with very sharp teeth of which I have a few new holes added to my hands. :o

Now the reason for this post: Peg 6 starts I believe at a gate which I haven't fished since early Feb. There were only sheep there then. Today I found many large cows. I remember a post on here about just ignoring them. I was fine with this. Apparently they weren't. As soon as I had all their attention (I was talking to the one blocking the gate) they all rushed over. I don't know if they were just curious or trying to be intimidating. I took it as intimidation. They got the pasture and I had to jump the fence. :D:D

Home by 815 holes and all.

They can be quite intimidating at times. I used to fish some farm ponds where the owner let you take your car down to them, and when I had a Volvo the cows all used to follow it, and once abandoned they used to lick the glass and fold back the door mirrors. Later I had a large Land Rover and they never took any notice of it at all. The farmer had one too. Could it be a sort of unfamiliarity defence response to strangers?
