Fishing in Margarita

In August I'm going for two weeks to Margarita which is just off the coast of Venezuela for a family holiday and will be doing some fishing whilst there .

 

The fishing on last years holiday in Lanzarote wasn't great mainly due to lack of experience and planning (though my friend did hook then loose a Wahoo whilst trolling) and we only managed to catch a few small fish from the lagoon.

 

Though an experienced coarse fisherman I don't know much about sea fishing and so would like to know what sort of fish I am likely to catch, how to catch them and what baits to use. I know there are lagoons, lakes, mangrove swamps and the Caribbean ocean.

 

If anyone has any experience with anywhere similar then I would be very grateful to hear from you.
