Where to fish?

Hello and welcome,

I have fished Lower Broadheath a few times, but never in the winter.

I found the fishing pretty good, but it is a commercial after all.

I fish a waggler rod, in very close, corn or meat on the hook over pellets thrown in by hand, just a tiny bit of float showing, bait hard on the bottom, keep the rod handle in your hand (front on a rest) because bites are very fast.

I found that the last couple of hours of light were easily the best, by this time the fish are on the feed after a hard day's sunbathing and all of the other anglers have gone home for their tea! Keep any wind on your back so you have a nice calm spot in front of you.

Had a lot of nice carp and the local bailliff guy was very helpful.

It has to be said, although I am a rod and reel man, I once saw a much better fisherman than me totally hammering them on a pole.

Good luck, but you might want to wait until the weather warms up a bit.
