Somewhat of a mediocre season!

Best Carp

14lb 9oz, 30/8/16 Jubilee Lake Thatcham, Pellet Feeder (a very sickly looking fish - so no pic! Pic below is of my 2nd best of the season a 12lb 11oz fish caught from the same venue a week earlier)

Best Barbel

10lb 4oz 10/10/16, River Kennet, Nr Thatcham. Ledgered Snailz Boilie. Yet again another season where I struggled to catch barbel - this double was the biggest of just 3 fish landed all season.

Best Bream

5lb 6oz, 5/8/16, Alders Lake, Thatcham. Float Fished meat.

Best Pike

5lb 6oz, 11/12/16. Kennet & Avon Canal, Thatcham. Float Fished Lob. As usual all my pike this season where a by-catch on perching sessions.

Best Chub

5lb 4oz, 21/1/17. River Kennet, Nr Thatcham. Trotted maggot. Another season which produced a LOT of chub and whilst I had plenty of 4lbers this was the only one over 5lb.

Best Tench

5lb 0oz, 20/6/16. Johnsons Lake, Milford. Float fished meat.

Best Crucian

3lb 7oz, 20/6/16. Johnsons Lake, Milford. Float fished prawn. Closest I came to a PB this season - this was my 3rd= biggest crucian and only 6oz shy of my PB.

Best Perch

2lb 11oz, 17/10/16. Kennet & Avon Canal, Thatcham. Float fished lob. A really disappointing season on the perch front - first season since 03-04 where I haven't had a 3lber. Plans already afoot on some new venues for next autumn!

Best Grayling

2lb 4oz, 11/02/17. Lower Itchen Fishery. Trotted red corn. Biggest of 4, 2lbers caught on the IAC Paul Goulbourn Memorial grayling fish-in. My only 2lbers of the winter - first time since I've bought a Dorchester book that I haven't caught a 2+ from the Frome.
