The summer of 2013 was one of the the best for several years, which encouraged many people to go fishing and buy a rod licence. In the South East we sold 344,449 rod licences. Nationally nearly 1.25 million rod licences were purchased which raised £21.6 million, however, while this is substantial it was less than we had hoped for and was not enough to fund all our ongoing projects so some work had to be slowed or stopped.
