  1. Guess it'll have to be the boat then, bugger!! I really hope it wasn't netted - I did hear of some decent flounder coming out last year (live 5 minutes up the road). I know what you mean about the rip. was fishing the mouth, from the shore the other day and saw a poor guy in a kayak trying desperatly trying get in through the mouth again an outgoing tide - he gave up after about 15 minutes!!

  3. I'm hoping to get out for the national comp this year, hopefully in a kayak, if not a mates boat. Will let you know how it fishes
  4. Has anyone fished the Teign (South Devon) from a Kayak? Would have thought that this would be quite productive.
  5. When are you guys going out next? I wouldn't mind coming down and having a look at your yaks.
  6. Cheers Chris, sorry so long to get back, it was my son's birthday yesterday - so rather manic!!! As you know I was really after a tandem - can't really afford £400 at the moment wot with the birthday and all. Thanks for getting back tho'. I will definately be contacting you guys to come out for a paddle when I'm all set up tho'. Cheers Ian
  7. Can you PM me with how much you're asking for the Prowler. Still something I would consider b4 a tandem. Cheers Ian
  8. Cheers Chris, I was really after a tandem, but how much are you asking for your prowler 13? Is it possible to tie the from of one kayak to the back of another whilst paddling? this may be an option as I'm sure my son could paddle, would just be a bit worried of him wondering off!! Can't PM yet, I think because I'm a new member. Cheers

  10. I have one who's nearly 10, and one who's 2 1/2. I have no doubt that my 10 year old could paddle his own kayak, but as neither of us are experienced, I would not feel at all comfortable letting him on his own kayak. I could just imagine me concentrating on fishing and looking around and see him in a dangerous situation, or worse not seeing him at all. I also have a mate I go fishing with every friday night, who likes the idea of kayak fishing, but hasn't got the pennies to try it, so thought it would be nice to have one that he could come out on. Thanks for the advice though - much appreciated
  11. As per my previous psting "Tandam kayak", I am looking to buy a kayak. I have quite a few years fishing experience, but apart from a bit of "playing" on a kayak years ago, not much experience when it comes to this. When I do get a kayak , is there anyone around the teignmouth/paignton/torquay/brixham area that would be prepared to show me the do's and don'ts when it comes to kayak fishing? My fitness is pretty good, but I'm sure my technique will be something to be desired!! Cheers
  12. Thanks fot that, I did actually go to see a Malibu 2 XL today at my local shop. Looked very nice, but being totally new to this, I wasn't sure how it could be kitted out. Anglers afloat website brilliant - very informative. Wher abouts are you in the country?
  13. Hi guys, I'm hoping to get a kayak shortly, but really need some advice. My son has said that he would like to come out with me occassionally. He's too young for a kayak of his own, so I guess I'm looking at a tandam, that isn't like a sack of s**t when used solo. As usual kids = not a great deal of cash. Could you guys give me some pointers as to what a good tandam would be (if any!!) and the sort of price to kit the thing out with rod holders etc. If anyone in the South Devon area has a kitted out tandam I could come and see, I would really appreciate it. I did check out the hobie outfitter - cough!! slightly out of my price range!!!!
