  1. Ive ordered an abu inticer rod and mullarkeys line (not mill end). Take a look on mullarkeys web site some good savings, okuma graphite fly reel, 11.20 fully salt water proof. Also on bosfish you can get a shakespeare pro reel 8 quid.

ok so its not as expensive as i thought it was

  2. Hi

I think the reason that you blanked is not your presentation ie rig set up, but the bait you used. I used to have the same problem where i would use a different hook bait compared to my groundbait.

What I found worked well was to match my hookbait to my ground bait, ie if you are fishing boilies on the hook use them as your freebies and vice versa if you use pellets. That way the carp are not wary about taking your hook bait as its the same as the freebies you have provided.

so should i cut up the boilies or just use hole boilies

also which size boilies and which flavour should i use

  3. all this information is great

i may have to wait a while before i can start because of a tight budget.

but if any one could tell the average price of the recommended rod and reels it would be great

  4. hiya all

    this is the report

i (carphead07 freinD) had 2 tench were as he blanked but he lost 1 right at the very start and he mised 1

my first tench came in very easy and it was 2 lb but my second tench came on carpheads tackle because the fish pulled his rod in the water and he couldnt get it soo i stripped off to my boxer shorts and t shirt to get in the lake which is surprisingly warm and i had to walk through 1 foot deep silt 2 get the rod he wouldnt come in the water to play the fish and by the time i had got the fish to the bank it was knackered so h netted it but good thing was it was my pb tench 5lb 4oz it beat my previous record by 2 oz and i got a photo of me holding the fish in the lake  so not a bad day all in all

    tight lines

  5. hello there fishermen

i never usually use this forum as i like to do carp and sea fishing but i was watching Matt Hayes fly fish for trout on the T.V earlier this week and it inspired me to want to start it.

now first thing is that i do not no any thing about fly fishing and thats why Ive started this topic.

now all i want is to no what gear i need just to start

secondly i would like to no how to catch a trout on a fly

also while watching the T.V it looked quite hard to keep all the line in order with out it getting tangled so i would like to no how to avoid that

    all help is appreciated

  6. Because they can. Simple as that. You see here that there are differences of opinion on whether they do any harm or not. If the owner of the fishery thinks they are (or just might be) harmful, he is within his rights to ban them. Over the years, there have been plenty of bans of this or the other on very flimsy evidence, from hemp to bloodworm.

OK so its a matter of opinion IE. if the owner feels that keep nets harm the fish than they'll ban them

  7. when i next go fishing I'm just going to remember how much each fish weighs and wright it all down and at the end of the session ill add up my total

    easy really

saves me going out and buying a keep net

  8. hiya

i was watching Matt Hayes the other day on discovery real time and he was using a keep net and i wanted to find out a bit about keep nets and how to use them.

the only thing i no about keep nets are that they keep fish in them to weigh in at the end.

i was jest wondering if any one has any other information on keep nets

    thanks

  10. so what you are saying is the most simple rigs can be the most effective ?

and that different rigs and baits work better in different venues ?
