  1. The lake that i tried this method on has only got carp.between me and my frien we had 21 carp biggest being 12lb and smallest was 5lb. Hope it works for you Jo
  2. i think this might be a little late but i read in the crafty carper a few weeks ago that if u fish in a small lake with that kind of fish u should mix in allot of somethink milky like ricepudding or cocconutmilk as this gives you a big white cloud in the water and it attracks allot of fish.i have tried it and it worked for me. although the lake i was on is probably the easiest lake in the world Jo
  3. the main reason why i wanted to make my own boilies is i thaught it will work out much cheaper.but from what some of you have said i am re-considering. have to say though that when i was a young boy i went fishing with my grandad once or twice and he used a mix of maizemeal and either curry or vinilla that he cooked. this made a very sort of stiff porridgelike bait that he put directly on the hook.and believe me he used to catch allot of fish. I know how to make this porridge so what i will do is next time i go fishing i will make this and roll it as boilies and let them dry. If this works i will be more than happy to put the recipe on the net. Thanks for all the replies Keep fishing Big Jo
  4. thank you. will try a few to see what work. how long do you boil them for and how long do you dry them can i put a fan on them to speed up the drying prosess thank you big jo
  5. hi i want to try and make my own boilies and i bought a boilie making set-up but no recipes I would appreciate it if anyone could help me out with a few recipes. And also a few good ground bait mixes thanks for wathcing and helping big jo
  6. What a completely dissapionting weekend.for some reason the 4 of us caught roaches for the whole weekend.no carp,no bream nothing else just roaches.and the interesting thing was most of them were caught all over there boddies except in there mouth. i was very upset and frastrated because i hardly got any sleep because i tried to get something.i had about 15 different flavours and a very good ground bait mix.i just dont know what went wrong.
  7. I have seen and read allot about spod and surface controlers and so on in magazines but i haven't got a clue on how to use them. it makes sense to mark the place where you cast but i just normally use my line clip.but i am willing to learn any new tricks. i think that is why people love carp fishing because there is always something new. 9. Hi. I want to attemp fishing for carp in a river. As i am still very new to fishing, i have got no idea how to fish in a river. At the moment i am using a method feeder with groundbait and boilies on a hair rig.but i don't thing the method feeder will work in a river as the flow of the river will take away all the groundbait. Please help me out on this one Jo

  11. Hi I bought the shimano S.T.C. Exage spinning rod. It has the option of 2.4 or 2.7 meters in one rod. Believe me this rod is brilliant. the biggest fish i caught with this is a 17lb carp.I got it on the bank without a problem It comes with a hard carry case and the go for around 43 pound sterling Big Jo
  12. that sounds like a very good idea james.the problem is i am going for a 48h session with some friens of mine next weekend so i need something soon. rob.as it is the net i had was a present so it was cheap and very flimsy so it ended in the bin thanks for your replies Big Jo
