  1. It looks like the top deck was derived from a Macski Kingfisher. Very similar basic elements and that is no bad thing. The have sharpened the bows and increased the 'V' of the hull. It won't ride the wave as well, but will certainly be quicker than the 4.25mph cruising speed of the Macski.

Should give the Dodo a run for its money and be almost as wet. At least there is no matching bilge pump offered as an accessory

    Price??

Nice looking kayak .... but sadly only available in New Zealand and nearby countries. They dont ship to the UK or Europe

  2. Thanks for that brian , Will you do me a big favour mate and THANK your neighbour and the other lads on the life boat that put themselves in danger and plucked my mate from the water and re assured me all was ok ....If it were not for them my mate and even me might not be here today to continue on our fishy journey......Thanks R.N.L.I........

glad to hear all was well in the end ..... :)

  3. Freebies .. ! What Freebies . ???

The Bilbao Kayak was tested and reviewed within a 7 days period and promptly returned to the supplier. As for the Kayak it is a perfectly good, sound and responsive kayak ... Have you actually TRIED one .! ... probably not.

As for getting Freebies ........ well if you call having to return the kayak in as good a condition as it was sent to me in .... then NO it wasnt a Freebie and NO i didnt get to keep it nor was it even a factor in my intention to test it. I wanted to test it because i liked the look of it as many others do ...... simple .!

  4. Thats a cracking days fishing by anyones standards  , Ive got to get back into this sport.

Were you drift fishing for the cod or at anchor?

Hi Blaze .... we just Drift while fishing ... wasnt a great tide flow so wasnt a problem .... Had GPS so easily got back to the best marks ...

    thanks

  5. Decided last minute to go to Flamborough North Landing today. Got there at 11am and tide was getting near top. Sea was very calm with virtually no wind. It was raining quite heavily but stopped after about an hour. We only fished a couple of hundred yds off the landing and were quickly into fish. First drop 3 mackeral :clap2: .... second ... 4 mackeral  ..... third .... yet more bloody mackies .. <_<

Change of tactics i decided to change the hokkis to a single 3oz weighted fish lure with triples. First drop got a Cod of 4lb... nice i thought. Dropped again and another 3lb Cod .... etc ..etc ..

Steve was well in too with loads of Coley , mackies , Codling etc ..

After about 3 hrs i got a biggish hit on my single lure and landed a Big 7.8lb Cod ... it was huge ..!

All in all we got over 50 fish of all descriptions but only kept the best bigguns and a mackie ....

Forgot my camera and my ruddy kayak seat so wasnt off to a good start but the fish make up for my backache i got .. took the pics when we got back ....

  6. Long shot i know but does anyone have a dual or single frequency Transducer that fits a Garmin GPSmap 168 Fishfinder GPS unit .... i think mine could be on the blink .... just need to test it to double check ..

    If not no worries ...

    thanks

    keith

  7. Hi all ... Anyone here use this type of Garmin Transon mount Transducer in their kayak ....

    515390_oi.jpg

..... having some problems locating mine at the moment and getting a good consistant signal. Ive mounted it on the inner Hull with matstic .... araldite ... in a container filled with water etc and the signal is hit and miss .... however if it remove it and place it direct in the sea its fine.

Dont really want to fit it out of the kayak if i can help it but has anyone else got this transducer and successfully fitted it in-hull on their kayak ??

    thanks ...

  8. I totally agree Pav ..... i recently purchased 2 Gaspachi hatches from the US and including carriage was less than half the price than the cheapest i could source in the UK .... and they arrived in under a week ..! ... ill buy US again for definite ..!

  9. Hi ... try Flamborough North and South landings .... both with good car parking and shops etc and a shortish but a little steep to the beach. Good catches from North landing at the mo ... plenty of Cod, makkies and some nice ling too .. South landing is often more sheletered but slightly less productive ...

Car park at North landing is £1.50 all day ..... cheap ! We regularly go our from there as we live in Hull ..

    thanks

    keith

  10. Hi Rob

    sorry to hear your misfortune.

When I bought my Humminbird FF it was supplied with a transom mount transducer.

I contacted OK and they supplied me with the boot via my local dealer.

The transducer and boot were a perfect fit and therefore something must have changed in the supply.

I suggest you try to contact Andrew at Johnson Outdoor as he has pointed me in the right direction on a number of occasions and quite often views and posts on this site

    Kevin

Not sure about other sounder makers but i have a Garmin 168 GPS sounder and it clearly states in the manual and on their website that bonding the transducer to the Hull must be done with Non Silicone based adhesives ...

  11. I personally like the stand system that Starvinmarvin has designed on his website using white water piping. It looks very well designed and looks to support the kayak comfortably and evenly ... a well thought out design SM .. :)
