  1. Nice looking kayak .... but sadly only available in New Zealand and nearby countries. They dont ship to the UK or Europe
  2. Anyone made or has plans for a DIY home grown rudder system for a sit on kayak ... ?
  3. glad to hear all was well in the end .....
  4. Freebies .. ! What Freebies . ??? The Bilbao Kayak was tested and reviewed within a 7 days period and promptly returned to the supplier. As for the Kayak it is a perfectly good, sound and responsive kayak ... Have you actually TRIED one .! ... probably not. As for getting Freebies ........ well if you call having to return the kayak in as good a condition as it was sent to me in .... then NO it wasnt a Freebie and NO i didnt get to keep it nor was it even a factor in my intention to test it. I wanted to test it because i liked the look of it as many others do ...... simple .!
  5. Hi Blaze .... we just Drift while fishing ... wasnt a great tide flow so wasnt a problem .... Had GPS so easily got back to the best marks ... thanks
  6. Decided last minute to go to Flamborough North Landing today. Got there at 11am and tide was getting near top. Sea was very calm with virtually no wind. It was raining quite heavily but stopped after about an hour. We only fished a couple of hundred yds off the landing and were quickly into fish. First drop 3 mackeral .... second ... 4 mackeral ..... third .... yet more bloody mackies .. Change of tactics i decided to change the hokkis to a single 3oz weighted fish lure with triples. First drop got a Cod of 4lb... nice i thought. Dropped again and another 3lb Cod .... etc ..etc .. Steve was well in too with loads of Coley , mackies , Codling etc .. After about 3 hrs i got a biggish hit on my single lure and landed a Big 7.8lb Cod ... it was huge ..! All in all we got over 50 fish of all descriptions but only kept the best bigguns and a mackie .... Forgot my camera and my ruddy kayak seat so wasnt off to a good start but the fish make up for my backache i got .. took the pics when we got back ....
  7. Long shot i know but does anyone have a dual or single frequency Transducer that fits a Garmin GPSmap 168 Fishfinder GPS unit .... i think mine could be on the blink .... just need to test it to double check .. If not no worries ... thanks keith
  8. Not having tried the X factor .... would you say they are a nippy kayak or a bit sluggish due to the width .... also do they suffer from much bow slap ??

  11. i agree its fun .... done it myself.. BUT ... its very dangerous. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england...all/6761041.stm
  12. Hi all ... Anyone here use this type of Garmin Transon mount Transducer in their kayak .... ..... having some problems locating mine at the moment and getting a good consistant signal. Ive mounted it on the inner Hull with matstic .... araldite ... in a container filled with water etc and the signal is hit and miss .... however if it remove it and place it direct in the sea its fine. Dont really want to fit it out of the kayak if i can help it but has anyone else got this transducer and successfully fitted it in-hull on their kayak ?? thanks ...
  13. he he he ....................... spiv ..
  14. I totally agree Pav ..... i recently purchased 2 Gaspachi hatches from the US and including carriage was less than half the price than the cheapest i could source in the UK .... and they arrived in under a week ..! ... ill buy US again for definite ..!
  15. The water is very clear at the moment and most fish are taken on Hokki / lures etc ... theres some lovely Cod too up to and over 5lb close inshore under Bempton Cliffs ... click on this link for some aerial shots - you can zoom in and out.
