  1. Here vessels under 10 meters have 1 ton per month of cod commercial vessels 250 klo per month surley this cannot be right. There must surley be restrictions on charter vessels quotas on the fish they sell that we catch? Of course charter vessels have to be licensed to market and profit from the sale of fish Cod are still under threat and remember trawlers can not trawl over wrecks the only areas cod can be taken by anglers we need to do something to help? I am not saying to return every Cod although it would not be a problem for me but everybody must play a part in getting the stock back to levels that are acceptable to us all. Anglers here only keep the fish for personel consumtion that means fish caught that are not required are retuned to the sea regards clicker
  2. as they we returned 2 tons Barry and Norry thats a lot of fish, as long as they were returned I don't have a problem with that. If they were not returned and sold at market I do, are these vessels licenced and registered? nice to know you know Jimmy Buchan and you talk nice of him. Jimmy is a great guy and a friend of mine although we differ on fishing regulations.Angling in this area is very good at the moment with catches of COD ,LING,AND VERY GOOD POLLOCK ARE IN ABUNDANCE . MACKEREL FISHING STARTED 3 WEEKS ,AGO. Troup head has some excellent fishing with world class birdwatching seals and dolphines as you fish. I am a sea angler and river angler for 30 years regards clicker
  3. sorry about choice on the poll it wasn't ment! The tide turns at high water as well as at low captain You think! is that all you have to say on subject? Cod in markets here are showing a very mixed even sizes of cod but of course this is only on the fish fishermen land and that tends to be the larger sizes with quota restrictions in force at the moment. and I am a angler, gannets are greedy and want every fish for themselves try diving with a stone round your neck next time. Staithes no and no prejudice here questions are aimed to get a responce to a cod recovery plan that has been in force for many years now. With signs that cod are returning to inshore waters along our coasts ,surely this is encouraging for us anglers. I think we as anglers should return all cod we catch for the moment anyway. viewing was bigger than bigbrother last year bob i will be watching it though. Its called choice Bob watches Big brother for sure? Min landing size is 35cm to small I would say. The filming this time was done in some very bad weather according to skippers Clem should make it very interesting.
  4. Are Cod a endangered species? Why are commercial fishermen and anglers catching so much cod? Could the marine labs be wrong? Is decommisioning of vessels working? Should charter vessels have days at sea limits? Should all cod be returned caught by chartered vessels? Trawler men returns to our screens on the 18 JUNE and I recommend you watch it after talking to skippers of Amity and Renown its going to be better viewing than the last time.
