  1. Thanks for the help guys. the pole is 11m but i have an extension which takes it to 12.5m but any case,,, it is over 6. Reason i ask about this is that the elastic is in the tip in a way that it could only be used in a telescopic manner. maybe my uncle used it this way although it is only the last three section. i was wondering if i should have the elastic limited to inside the tip so it would not be telescopic!! maybe a bit difficult to explain. Well,,, i am a little closer to knowing how to use it. Thanks again
  2. hi everyone... I hope some one has some info tucked away about this pole as i can not find much on the web. I have been left a lot of fishing gear by my late uncle,,, I'm a carp angler and in the past a regular course angler and never got into poles. So I have this pole and his BOSS box and loads of gear and I want to use it some day soon. poles are real popular in France and i go there a lot. So,,,, I know nothing about poles. So few questions: What tops would it have come with?? seems I have two with orange ferrels,, one thicker with a light blue ferrel and one top has a metal screw fitting (but i can't find anything to screw into it!!) Any one know what elastic this pole is rated to and what duty it is up to?? could i fish for carp pasties with it?? He had yellow, blue and purple elastic in his box!! One final question,,, and this may sound silly but i am a non pole user!!. Do you just pull the pole out like a telescopic rod or do you fit all the sections together like a normal rod. i ask as it works both ways,,,, Sorry if that last question is a bit dumb but i HAVE NEVER used a pole,,, That is about it. Thanks for any assistance. Alan
  3. Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me. I apologise if this has ever been covered before. I have a few problems with a matched pair of beachcasters. The spigot joints are sloppy on both rods,,,, and on one of the rods the spigot has just developed a crack down it's length. Does anyone know of a good way to repair the spigot? I was thinking of pulling the butt cap off and dropping a length of carbon in from that end so it drops into the spigot from the wider ID and then glue it in place and cut it off at the end of the spigot once set. Any ideas what glue would work on this joint and where I could get the carbon from ?? it's about 20mm dia ID at the spigot so would need to taper up from that,,,, very slowly. Also, once I've done this (or similar suggested repair) how can I safely build up the spigot again?? Or Has anyone got one of these butts laying around, possibly because the tip is broke etc,,,? or Does anyone know who could fix this problem for me and make a pukka job of it?
