  1. cheers mate the lea is only a small river what tips can you give me for fishing there and what might work for bait?
  2. cheers you lot, getting to read all your replies and taking note but i'm off to Turkey for two weeks (might bring back some new fishing baits from me meals i eat out there) but still keep letting me know what tips you have for me or what else there might be for me to look at. have tried swimfeeder with 1" hook length - even attached the hook to the swimfeeder itself what a bang bite that was (used to score every other cast) and hallibut pellets chub love 'em any size of pellet. - Also I've got two Richard Walker Mk4 Avons 1 the SU version 11/4lb test would you use them ? as i keep getting told they should be hanging on the wall!!! regards, Speak to ya in a couple of weeks tanned & proberly still intoxicated (i hope). Hi all, Hope there are some out there that can give me a few tips & rig ideas on how to catch some barbel? having not fished for 9years due to work stress i joined the last fishery i belonged to which was a stretch of the river Lea at Ware Hertfordshire - Kings Weir - Oh but they were the days!!! having been a couple of times now with no luck at all (just a couple of small chub) very small in fact & in last weeks Angling Times i read that in september the EA are going to restock it with fish after the fish kill of 2006! news to me as i was told there has not been any fish kill for some years!!! so if anyone knows how to catch barbel that are scarse i'd love to hear from you with your tips & rigs or methods. regards, Mick G
