  1. No i would not. Well not unless the government provide a two mile commercial excluetion zone around the coast of britain to protect the coastal fisherys and habitats.

The other question you have to ask yourself is. With our leaderships current record, would you trust them to deliver on their promises? The words dishonest, untrustworthy and sneeky spring to mind. :sneaky2:

  2. Thanks chaps.

Newt I was kinda casting my net over both fly fishing at sea and coarse fishing. Tom and Jerrys out of Kissimmee is looking good at the moment. With them I can take my son at no extra cost which is a bonus. Thanks for the advice on the fly gear as well. I might just stock up, upset Mrs squibs, but hay ho!! :slap:

  3. :clap2: Thanks chaps. Yet again lots of good valuable information. It would seem that I'll have to do more homework on this one and a lot more saving by the looks of it as well. Like I said before, this is a once in a life time opertunity. I have no intention of going back there.

Oh one more thing (wrong side of the net I know), has any one got any information on fly fishing in the area?

  4. Can any one give me some advice or guidance on charter fishing in Florida?

I'm off on a family trip to Disney land next year and I'm desperately trying to get a days big fish fishing (once in a lifetime chance). Now we're staying in Kissimmee and I believe that puts me slap bang in the middle. An hours drive to the sea either way. I'm looking to do pritty much what you would do if you go boat fishing in the UK. The differance being (I hope) bigger fish and warmer weather. I don't mind joining other anglers in fact I'd welcome it as I can not afford to charter a boat on my own.

So if anyone can help with pointers or a good recommandation please do. The thought of two weeks of over sincere corperate goo is starting to curl my toes.

"I am now looking forward to fishing with him again in 2008".

I know the feeling. I took my son mackie bashing out of Brixham whilst on holiday. He said "It was the best day ever". I slept a happy man that night and i am looking forward to our next trip. Only problem is he's a fair weather fisherman at the moment, so the trip will not be untill the spring. May be we'll hook him his first Bass.

  6. Big adam

I've got a Diawa Megaforce carbon rod for my multiplier. It's got a tip action and I can send a weight 120 yards with an over head lob. It works for me, not sure what the more expirienced members of A.N would have to say about it, but like I said it works for me. I got it from Lathams, so check out Eltons link if you are interested in that sort of rod.

  7. Thanks W.S.F I'll bare that in mind. I've got an ABU 6500 now so I shouldn't need another one for a while, but you never know them being a shiney shiney and all. As for shopping in the states I'm getting the feeling that the tools that are available here are not over there and vise a verser. So I'll have to wait and see. I might look into booking some big fish fishing if I can get it past Mrs squibs.

I feel that there's a point when staring at Mickeys inate grin screws the mind up of the most resilent of people. Fishing will be my link to sanity, so here's hoping.

  8. Interesting to find out if you can swing a discount in person?

I got my sea rods from there for a fair price. You do have to look out for the quality some times though and if you don't mind seconds (i don't) then thats the place to go.

They've been one of the best kept secrits (sorry sp. I'm having a moment) in Norfolk for ages.

  9. :clap2: The storm is off Portsmouth at the moment, working its way east so it should be with you tonight. It's put a nice bit of colour in the water here so it's looking promising for Monday or Tuesday night. :clap2:

Just started working my night shift so the fishings off untill the weekend. I just hope the conditions stay good until then. Thanks for the tip though Norm I hope to make good use of it.

Got mine for about the same money. A standard green one and not the guci florida orange one like yours. Looking forward to using it, though family and work commitments are holding me back at the moment. Can't wait for the storm swept Norfolk seas to turn up.

  11. I am now the proud owner of a abu 6500 mag elite c3 ct thanks to a nice man on ebay called stu. So it time to practise on the local field.

One more question from you lovely chaps is , does anyone have a copy of the paper work that goes with it that i could have please? Failing that is there a web site that would have the info?

  12. Squibs you may have difficulty finding either the Abu 6500 Mag Elite or Penn 525 Mag in the States as the Americans really don't use beachcasting reels like we do here in the UK.

Ok thanks for that. I hoped to find some thing cheaper, rip off britain and all that.

  13. :clap2: A very sensible response. The weather here has churned up the bottom and we#re not in any danger that I know of but I'll leave it until tomorrow, just in case. :)

I take it that you are in the area then Norm?

  14. Fanastic response people. My humble thanks to one and all. I'm still torn between the two so it'll have to be down to cost. It'll eather be ebay or as I'm off on a family holiday to the states next year I might be able to pick up a better deal or two over there. Two weeks of Disney. I'll need some fishing or related activity to restore my sanity.

    Once again many Thanks.

  15. I find the Abu Mag ultra smooth, very rarely birdy unlike the 525 Mag which is simply uncontrollable if you turn the magnets off by mistake. both are excellent when set correctly.

If I see you about this weekend ask and you can try an Abu Mag out, normally have one in the car.

Most kind of you to offer.

I was going tonight with my son. Unfortunitly mother nature and Mrs squibs put the kybosh on that what with the storm surge and all that. I reccan (sorry norfolk speak) the fishing should be good, what with the extra water ripping up the seabed, but it's better to be safe. I don't wish to be added to the list of poor souls who get swept out to meet there maker. So chinky and a video for the lad and i tonight.

  16. Can any of you fine fellows give me advice on multipliers?

I've had enough of birds nesting my cheapo reel and so it's time to fork out for a decent reel and running the wraith of the domestic planning authority. It'll be cheaper in the long run, as I'm slowly using up my stock pile off line. That's what I'm going to tell her anyway.

I been looking at the Abu 6500 mag elite and the Penn 525 mag.

I fish in Norfolk with the annual trip to South Devon, so it's mainly clean bottom fishing. Has anyone got any thoughts on the two reels. I need a reel that will cope with my brawn and ineptitude.

Also, can anyone give me some advice on reel general tuning or is it a mythical art and I'm way off the mark, please?

    Tight lines. :fishing:

Talking to a mate of mine, He reckings that that area can fish a blinder when the storms are blowing hard. Something to do with the area having bay like qualities and the fish come in for shelter and grub. So when the storms are up your luck should be in with any luck.

  18. Sheepy

You could also try craft shops as well. I got some half decent wire and goldhead beads from the card making section of the range. You can also pick up things like eyes for damsils. You've just got to think a little out side the box to make it work  .

  19. Thanks loopy

A lot of wisdom that is well received. The chap started fishing at the very begining of the waters life so I'm sure he is well versed in the waters carateristics. He also fishes alot of ather waters too, so maybe its a case of age and knowledge.

Top tip about the tippet and the rate of fall. I shall deffinatly apply it and see what happens. Lots of tasty trout I hope.
