  1. Thanks, but I could not find the reels until now.
  2. Hi, I have a question regarding the Daiwa Tournament SS reels: http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/ss_t/index.html Does anybody know, where I can get the sizes 1300 and 700 in the UK? Thanks
  3. Hi, I’m sorry to enter this old thread, but could anybody answer me some questions regarding the six different Dave Swallow Reels shown at the picture? 1. Which of the reels is the Dave Swallow MK1? 2. Which of the reels is the Dave Swallow MK2? 3. What do you know about the other reels? Thanks!
  4. Hello Newt, I do not get new information about shipping a rod to Germany for less than 25 GBP but... Dpd.co.uk is able to send parcels up to 1,75 metres and 5 kg weight for about 25 GBP. At Ebay I've seen some auctions where the seller declares a shipping rate of 15 GPB for a rod to Germany. Example: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewIt...em=300223183901 Seller: http://myworld.ebay.de/richyf72/ I had asked him for the shipping contractor but he only tells me something like "Royal Mail". That should no be possible. Regards, Thilo
  5. Thanks for your help! Before I have asked at this forum I had searched the ebay.uk forums for an answer. I didn't find one. Now I will follow the discussion.
  6. Hello, I want to buy a rod for float fishing for chub, roach and grayling. In Germany I could not find a good rod. So I want to go Ebay.co.uk but there is the problem to send the rod to Germany. Can anyone give me some help for shipping a float rod (shipping length 5 feet) to Germany in an inexpensive way? Is it not possible to ship a rod for less than 25 GBP? Thanks, Thilo
  7. Hello chesters1, Thanks again. Is it really true that the 501 is smaller than the other Abus? I thought that the 501, 503, 505 and 506 have the same size. TL.
  8. Hello Guys, I want to say thank you for the information! The different drag systems an reel sizes are cleared. Now there are some new questions occured. Will there be a technical problem if I want to fish the 501, 506 or 1044 with 0.18 and 0.20 line diameter or is it a only problem of line capacity? (I have heared that some guys use the 505 for eel fishing in the night) If 0.18 or 0.20 line is possible, how much will the 501, 506 and 1044 hold? The last question is, if someone can tell me the optical difference between the older an the newer 507? ----- I agree that a centrepin would be the best choice for trotting but I have to cast some metres (sometimes) and it would take long time learning to cast with a centrepin. Normally I go flyfishing for chub, trout and barbel but now I'm interested in the old english style to fish at rivers. TL.
  9. Hello, I'm looking for an Abu closed face reel for trotting barbel und chub in medium fast rivers. The reel has to handle 120-150 metres line of 0,18 to 0,25 mm. diameter (barbel). The drag should work without touching the reel handle (when preparing the landing net). Is it possible to tell me the differences between the following reels? 501 503 505 506 506M 507 1044 Which reel(s) would you recommend for my way of fishing? Is it possible to get instruction manuals of the reels anywhere? Thanks very much, Thilo
