  1. Hi there yakkers, is there anything i should lookout for or avoid in my choice of bouyancy aid? which one do you guys wear and why? also, is it better to get a high cut one to avoid contact with the seat back or isn't this a problem. I'm currently waiting for my roof rack to arrive then its off to the shops for some heavy duty retail therapy. by the way, what is the drill at demo days? do they have wet/dry suits to wear so you can try all their nice toys or is it bring your own....... andy
  2. wotcha, me again. i've been looking at a prowler 13 in my not so local store and was wondering if "they're all like that sir". the hull has a slight indent towards the rear on what would be the keel line. i was told that "they are all different, some are worse, others better, it depends on how they come out of the mould." is this true? has yours got a smooth bottom or am i being told porkies. i realise that any defects in hull shape will cause drag to a more or less extent and small imperfections i can put up with but on a new boat i would like the best shape available and not be sold anything substandard just for the sake of a sale. your thoughts please....... andy.
  3. thanks for the input guys, very interesting. shall have to wait till i get my yak to practise...... couldn't make it to clacton today, and by the way the winds blowing i guess you didn't either, thanks for the invite tho codshead. another time perhaps. andy.
  4. hi guys, i've been lurking on the site for a few days now, reading up on all the important stuff for my next toy !! a couple of questions tho' have come to mind. as an ex paddler many years ago i always had the problem of cold water running up my sleeves. if i get a crewsaver drysuit do the neoprene wrist seals stop this happening? i know the paddles have drip rings but mine never worked so i guess they won't nowadays..... also, the crate behind the seat. how do you access it on the water ?? i'm not as flexible as i was so this may be a problem. it would be ok if sitting sidesaddle or once onshore but it might be a long paddle for a sarnie. your thoughts please. by the way, excellent site, full of information and people willing to pass on their knowledge. andy another essex boy ( old grumpy really ).
