Sorry, slightly confused about this one? Why do you feel it's wrong to take a 8.5lb pollack? Do you think it's too small and deserves to grow bigger? Would you prefer smaller pollack taken?

Yes that is an interesting point there. It's just where I am coleys never grow bigger that say 3 or 4lbs whereas the pollack can be more than double that close in. Thanks for the reply.

Hi there, just wondering if anyone here has had a go at this flouro- Stren tinted flouro I've heard it is very good but slightly confused about the tint. There appears to be a few shades including gunsmoke and tannic. Any idea on which tint to go for for rock fishing? Any feedback greatly appreciated as always.

Just very curious to find out why it is that Pollack grow so much bigger close to shore than Coalfish yet Coalfish can potentially grow huge? Is this because Coalfish tend to move to deeper waters once they get a particular size? Any feedback on this one with be greatly appreciated.

All fish have worms in them!!!! That is an eye opener. Are you sure about that one? Crumbs., if this is correct then how many worms have I eaten to date!

Now, it goes without saying this is not ideal. My question to all you pros is this : is there any way of knowing if a fish has worms in it before killing it? Dan this memor-x looks very good. I'm interested in your rig here. Can you explain what you mean by "40lbs for the first 6 - 8 inches then join to 6 - 8 inches of 15lbs hook snood" please? I've been planing about with doing away with the blood loop and replacing it with a water knot. Although this is giving me a much stronger knot it increases the tangle rate with the hook length wrapping round the mainline. I think I will look into booms that are as "invisible" as possible.

Sorry I may have misled you a bit. I actually use 50lb braid as mainline then 30lb mono with 12lb droppers. I find the lighter line the better on a kayak. If I get snagged on all 3 droppers I am in trouble. Snapping 12lb on it's own is relatively easy but not when you have more than one dropper stuck. The biggest bonus of using a light a line as possible is you catch far more fish. I realise that light line is not a resistant to abrasion but the waters I fish are pretty free from that. I change my line every time I go out and will change it while out if I see any wear or tear on the trace. I have been using 30lb main line with dropper loops but intent on doing away with the loops and using simple 4 turn water knots. This will give me added strength being a better knot. It may also help with the tangling probs also. Still wound be interested if any could recommend a nice stiff fluoro or something that is less prone to tangles around the mainline.

Hi there, I am trying to step down on line rating and go down to about 12lb droppers. I'm finding that the amnesia mono I am using is so limp it is tangling around my main line way too much. I'm wondering whether any could recommend a stiffer line for me to use that might help? Would fluoro help in this situation? Many thanks.

I have those and they are great for shore fishing but not so good on a kayak. Too thick and water gets in the slits. So are you saying the flexor gloves have lasted you 2 years maidstonemike?

Ok still with the clothing theme here. Any advice on a good pair of gloves for fishing? Gloves to keep me warm and dry but not too thick. Maybe asking for all three is asking too much for gloves. Also is it best to wear gloves over the cag seal or under for a better seal? I assume over would be better over but would like to hear your ideas on this. Many thanks

Interesting to read that guys thanks. I hear that cotton is not too good to wear as is has no or little protection against the water should it get in plus it stays wet for longer etc I'm wondering if I could get away with a thin fleece top. I may have a go.

Hi there, Wondering what sort of material you wear under your dry suit/cag when it's perishing cold? Do you simply wear a few thin layers or what? Does it need to be breathable etc? I wear a long john style wetsuit under my rash vest and dry cag but still feel it cold on top when it's really cold out there. Any feedback on this very much appreciated indeed!

(Or both) I just wasn't too sure whether the fish actually follow the tide and head to another shore etc or whether they are still in the same area but hiding. Thanks for you input mate.

When the tide comes in they come in and when the tide goes out do they go out? What is the reason mid tide seems to always work best where I live?
