  2. Hi Martin,

    Good to see you back!

I didn't do any carp fishing over winter, concentrating on sea fishing instead. That said, I've just pencilled in some dates for March to get the rods dusted off!

Me too, been a bit to cold for it tried a few times but had nothing out!!

Sea fishing has been better been going down Deal peer and Dove peer!!

  4. Hi all i was wondering the other how to make it faster to bait my rigs up. i was told about putting clips on my mainline so i could clip my rigs on and off. I started to try this and fount it much eaiser and quicker to change my bait. But i have a problem i dont kno what is the best safety clip to use to. Any suggstions??

    Thanks All

    Wet Lines!

  5. Hi all, firstly i will say i'm normally a day session carp or course fisherman, but occasionally i go for a night or 2 carping on a local lake with my old man.

My problem came to me 2 weeks ago when i was setting up at the bivvy.

I found that all of my carp bits(rigs, hooks, rubber tubing etc...) was all over in different boxes here and there, so i thought i would search the net to try to find an easy solution.

The favourite at the moment is the Fox System Box kit, but i am on a bit of a budget, so i was wondering if :

1- The Fox system box was worth the cash

2- If you knew of any other products

and 3- how you find the best way to keep your kit neat and tidy

bear in mind i cant have anything too big it must fit easily into my carryal.

Any help would be appreciated thankyou

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::thumbs:

I always go for my favourite but thats me.

It depends how big u want the box, but to be honest i dont always buy expensive stuff!

what need to look at is willl all ur bits go into the 1 box and will it make u happier!

  7. I hope your not expecting a big catch report because your going to be a bit disappointed. We never even went in the end - the lake was fully booked :( . We are now going to book a trip from Saturday 31st May (morning) - Sunday 1st June (evening). Fingers crossed we will have more than a few nice fish out.

Fatzy, How did you have that 30lb fish out?

    Method, Bait, etc..

Sorry to hear about that Dave, was all the lakes booked up? its always gd to ring ahead!!

To be honest with u dave i dont know it was a basic set up with a 18mm fusion boilie on it was in the middle of the lake. so to honest that catch was more down to luck! i will go into more detail for ya another time!

have a go with mainline baits they seem to do well!!!!! they like their paritcle as well!

  8. I rent a barn type thing up the road.....you could have stored it there :D

Mind you, here's my tip for the week - don't leave sacks of hemp and pellet in an uncovered bin, however big it is :( It's been like a slaughterhouse up there this week and I've put down two big traps and a load of poison to catch mummy and daddy rat today.....

lol they still find a way of getting in even with the lid on!!! all ur bait gone then?

  9. White Chocolate Boilies were the first bait i have ever used but i didnt catch on them, but looking back on it i realised i didnt know as much as i do now about carp fishing.

So i mite give them a go again and let u know wat happens.

But if they are working in ur local lakes then keep using them, be carefull that u dont kill the bait off!!

  10. hi everyone im gonna go night fishing for the first time soon but im not sure what bait to use i was wondering if i should use a smelly bait or a bright bait?

Depends which lake you are fishing depends on what you will need to use.

For your first night i was say use both. 1 on each rod see what happens and try things see how they get on, if the fish are feeding then they will find ur bait!

P.S. Let us know how u get on!

    HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!

  11. I know a few people who, if they had a grand, would snap this up!

10mm (and smaller) seems to be all the rage right now!

I just clicked on their other listings and notice a few related bits, too.

I wish i had a grand i would have it for myself but where would i put it LOL!!!

  12. I frequently got to HFF (Hawkhurst Fish Farm). What a place to be its a lovely complex and if u guys want a shower u can lol.Whatch out for the ducks the owner of HFF loves his ducks so they can be pricey and there are loads! My advice is to try and find a deep part of the water as the lakes are not that deep. The main lake always feeds well off mainline baits and paritcles. you can buy pellets and other stuff from the baliff , (he is alright, watch out for his jokes). The lake is 3 ft deep in most places u will have to find the deeper bits, but there are some out there. dont worry too much about the islands as the slop away, so come a rod length off the island.Yes you can use boats on there! There are some nice fish in the lake i hve had a 30lb common out of the main lake. The dove lake i havent had much expiernce on but they say the smalles fish is 20lbs, but what i have heard it is a hard lake to fish! The match lake is as it says a match lake but u can fish it for 12hours if u want just ask the baliff! The Cafe is a bit pricey so take ur own and there has been a tackle shop opened in the last few months so they will be able to help u out a bit. its a shame i wont be down there this weekend i would have pop and seen u both, let a few more tips out !WET LINES Martin P.S. Let us know how u are getting on and the freshwater informer 9 times out of 10 have a ctach report on HFF

I haven't been there snce I wrote this article, which took place there. If it's anything like it was then, all that's needed is the ability to hit the water with your bait :D
Elton the prices have gone up since that article£30 for 24 hour on the main lake£35 for 24 on the Dove lake!
  13. Yes i have had a crazy idea again lol.

I was sitting there eatting my sunday roats dinner and i was thining about sweetcorn (i dont useually have it on my roast but i couldnt say no as i was a mates house, then i started thining i know that some fish eat it and some others dont (the same with maze!), but i was playing with my peas in my gravy and it came to me DO FISH LIKE GARDEN PEAS?????

So now i have a few question for everyone...

    1. Do fish like garden peas of any type of peas??

    2. Will peas harm fish
