I have laready got mny bait sorted, i am using the exact same bait i used on the main lake, lets hope it works.

  3. Will do going fishing tomorrow at my local lake where there are a few crucian carp in the lake.

Will add to this tag after my day tomorrow. Lets hope I catch a nice little crucian using the help above!!

    Dan.

    have fun!!!!

  4. Is that Stone near Bradwell? Plenty of Bass there, 'The Dogs' should be able to help you.

Casting distance - bass will come into water below knee depth, especially at night. Local knowledge is the key as Fishing-Guernsey said above.

No it is Stone in KENT

Just up from the dartford bridge!

  5. this is gonna sund really weird but i fish the the thames (between Gravesend and Stone) and was wondering if any 1 has managed to catch a decent size bass from the thames! I know of some bass coming out but not many and if they have they are small!

I do alot of my sea fishing there because i havent got transport and can walk to it.

Is it best to cast far out or close in???

  6. I am about to buy the new Nash Venoms and was wondering what people thought of them!

I have had my eye on the since they came out last year and have been fixed on them since!

I was hoping to find out some info about them, see what other they are like to use. Its a shame that you cant have a test run on fishing gear (do a days fishing then decied), but then again people would take advanteg of this and never buy fishing gear just borrow it!

Any ways i would be really greatfull to hear your views!!

  7. We recently discussed this subject in some detail on another thread,For those who missed it and are interested its here-

    http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/Leadcor...ing-t76625.html

it is intersting how the debate about leadcore is still going on! for many of yeards all weights were made of lead and they have slowly changed over the years! its funny that something that is so good at catching fish has in the end turnt bad!

i do admit that its down to the fishermen/women that catch fish but still there are so many things that are harmfull to the fish!!

some times i wonder if fish could talk what would they say but hey they cant talk!!!

but who knows in 1000 years time maybe they will talk to back to us lol!!

    WHAT WOULD THEY SAY??? LOL

  8. A flying visit to see my family from 19-21/2/08, then I'm down for a week over Easter - fishing is on the agenda then. Bernadette and her daughter - and my son are all looking forward to it. As for food...

we cook on the bank - it tastes better than anything from a cafe.

cool! well have fun and happy fishing!!

  9. Any rig that can leave leadcore attached to a hooklink is potentially unsafe. Even if the lead, clips etc are discharged the leadcore is still being towed and for some reason leadcore does seem to tangle around things, even if it doesn't become knotted. I used leadcore for several years thinking my rigs were OK. Cracked off one day and found a fish two weeks later dead in the reeds with my rig still attached. I use inlines most of the time, the lead had come away but the leadcore had still become entangled with the reeds. I've never used leadcore again. The only rig i think could possibly be safe with leadcore is the helicopter rig but even then I'd still have concerns. When the alternatives to leadcore are so good why take the chance????

After reading that i am thiking along the lines not to use leadcore! But i only use the helicopter rigs as the lake i fish mainly has a bit patch of silt!

But if a normal rig cracked of in a fishes mouth it would still be bad so i am still a little confused.

For now i am gonna stick to normal rigs for safety!

  10. When are you next in kent!

I fish hawkhurst alot and thats where my 30lb came from (from the main lake!!)

Try it some time!! It costs me £30 - £35 per 24hr but its worth it!

i would upload a picture but it wont let me!

some time i fill its a bit to posh for me lol

ALL I CAN SAY IS TAKE UR OWN FOOD THE CAFE IS WELL PRICEY!

they do a good deal on pelets. not sure if it 20kilos for £25 or 25kilos for £20 not sure any size pellets as well!

  11. there will always be 2 sides to bait boats but some ppl like em and other dont!!

i met a few exprienced fishermen in there late 50's and 1 uses a boat where as the other 1 doesnt.

but looking at in their point of view alot of the older anglers it gets harder to cast, so by using a boat helps them out!

but i understand what Rob is sayin ppl do abuse it and sneak into your swim, they say "they didnt know" but full well they do!

i am neither for or against the bait boat because it has its advantages and disadvantages!!!!!

  12. I don't see how it can be used safely, even if you use a 'safe' rig which frees the lead in the event of a break it still leaves the fish trailing leadcore.

thats a very good point Rob that is wat i am worried about! i have already caught a few carp that have had rigs still in their mouths where ppl dont know wat they are doing!!

i am gonna have to research into to it more!

    any suggestions where to look?????

  13. The other day i was having a chat with a few fishing mates and we got onto the subject about leadcore! 1 was against it and 1 was for it but neither 1 explained why.

Basically i am after information on both the good side and the bad side of using leadcore! I have wanted to try it as i have heard about a few results my mates have.

I am trying to chase a new pb, as they have reach the 30's i need to try some new tactics to get the bigger 1's.

All help/information will be greatfully recieved.

    Martin
