  1. I don't think by the sounds of it the B.S. committee would want a vote on joining the SAA. Probably because if the members heard what the SAA were about and what they stood for, they would probably be faced with a "yes" vote to join. Some will drivle on about" ooh but what about the Grayling society, there not members either". To that i will respond by adding that i doubt very much if many members of the Grayling Society contribute to this board or any other web/ angling site. That is not a jibe at them just probabilty for they may be a large group but come on, get real, grayling are mainly a species that very few fish for regularly. Even if they do it will never be classed alongside carp, barbel and pike. If the SAA,EA,RSSG or any other group can help preserve the closed season on rivers then good luck to them all.

  3. Now thats a pointed question phil. I not sure how many changes there have beeen on the BS committee and if indeed they are re-elected each year by the members or themselves. I do know that a friend of mine wanted to ask some potentialy awkward questions at the agm, he was told (as most agms) that he had to put all questions in writing way in advance. That way the questions asked at the AGM were vetted beforehand so guess what....it was never heard. If that is democratic then yes they all are.

  5. Nice reply waterman, well said it needed to be. Seems to me a bit like the RSSG have only been going five minutes, have few members and are already trying to call the shots and create conflict with the SAA. Is that because some of the guys so say at the top are matey with Mr Pope who as we already know is no fan of the SAA or seemingly its policies? Sorry if this is not the case ,but it sure seems like it. I hope this wont generate into a power struggle as to who is "appeared" to be doing the best for river anglers.

  7. Steve it looks like all you ever do is bide the time instead of contributing to the overall matter in hand. Fishing as a whole is under threat from one angle or another, not just the close season on rivers. On checking out the SAA code of conduct etc i find it difficult to believe that many anglers can disagree with their aims. We will all never agree about everything but will make little progress by biding our bloody time so we can in the future turn around and say "we told you so"
