we did Scotland last year & it was bloody freezing so we thought south is best... wheres good in the lakes?, not windermere its too big?

It sounded great right up to the school holiday bit.... lol, yes it's the 26th May were going which is a school holiday... We would like a small ish water where it would be just a few fisherman, nothing comercial & we are quite flexible to where to go in North wales area. We went to Loch Lomond last year it was freezing & we didn't catch one fish... came back home & caught a nice 15 pounder so that's why we thought we would try a little to the south rather than north... Any thoughts?

Any more info on it please Rich or more venues elsewhere would be welcomed?

We are pike fisherman of yesteryear when not many people wanted to fish for them about 30 years back.... Bala looks very nice but we really want somewhere smaller where we can book before we go to pitch the bivvis next to the water for night fishing... Don't get me wrong Bala will do if we can't get smaller.... anyone any ideas of any that would suit us more?

Hi there, thanks for you reply Lake Bala is it good for pike fishing? I have made some calls it's £6 per week to fish £21 for 4 days to camp in total for 3-campsite called glen sen (I think) 300 yrds from the water £7 each for a rod licence Thats £20 each this seems pretty good although we would like to bivvy on the water do you know where it's possible on Bala?

It's my dads 60th this year & My dad me & my brother would like to go Pike fishing in North Wales camping, can any one tell us where is a good spot to camp/fish we would like to pitch the tents next to the water to maybe do a spot of night fishing, we don't want anything commercial we would just like a quiet water which is either free or at little cost, We seem to be going round in circles looking for a venue, please help if you can.
