  1. Yeah, iv'e leanrt a very valuable one, just had a look in my room again and saw a few more burrowing down into the carpet, they just keep seem to be appearing from nowhere lol, it could be havock in a few days lol
  2. Aye, bet there all walking round like that guy from Notredam
  3. Well its like Shawshank Redemption in my house today. I'd been keeping my maggots in my mums fridge at home but one got loose and so i had to make other plans. As i was going to go fishing again today, i decided it wouldn't matter to keep them at room temperature so i kept them in a the box, in a bag. However, the box was wet and i think the maggots had worked themselves free through the gaps (dont think i must have kept the lid on correctly being honest ). Anyway, i woke today to find them scattered all across the floor, luckily parents were out at work so i started to clear them up. Half an hour i was there trying to get the little critters, they were everywhere. Think iv'e mannaged to collect nearly all of them but you can never get them all, it's proabaly just a matter of waiting untill they come out as flies and i'll be waiting with the spray to give it to them. Wish me luck . Has anyone else ever had these kinds of escapades?
  4. damn right, although i wouldn't put it past large capitalist companies, maybe get people in places like china and india to do it for the most deporable wages ever, it's bad enough trying to tie one knot, but tying the things all day, you'd well get a headache
  5. Well had another **** day of fishing, nothing but small roach and rudd and a big ide that jumped about 2 feet out of the water one it realised it was hooked. Thats 2 crap sessions in as many days and to make matters worse i got **** wet through both times, not a happy chappy at all!!

    Tench

carpers do my head in sometimes with crap like that
  7. intermediate with fast retrieve, i think it's mostly the disruption that the blob causes in the water that gets the trout fired up to take, that's why people are complaining because it doesn't actually imitate anything really, it just causes a disruption that entices the trout
  8. i'm only a novice fly angler mate, there's no way i'm spending stupid cash on what is essentially a piece of string

ah well, it was from abotu 11 in the morning til about 5 in the afternoon, it doesn't usually matter there though, it's only a small fishery and a few days last week iwent and caught a few, it's very strange, going again today just to see ow it is

    Tench

o.k, well its 3 small pools, i have found the best one for my liking. It's quite well stocked with small roach, decent sized rudd and some clonking ide, ther are a few mirrors but they are pretty illusive nowadays and quite a few tench. went yesterday actaully and the tench were nowhere in sight, cudn't get them feeding nevermind catch the buggers , the problem though is that once you've put ur bed of bait down such as pellet and corn and u do see them feeding, its only a matter of time before the roach start taking over and swarming ur bait.. Also, it's not long befire the tench have packed up and left after begginning to feed, am i over feeding the swim? i try to not go overboard but it seems the feeding sessions are only short. Although i had a clonking fish for the small place the other day but it shot off under the trees to my right and snapped the hooklink, never even got to see what or how big it was

Fished the local once again today, had a few small roach, a few nice ide and a beast of an ide as well. However, this was not my intended quarry, i was originally fishing for tench but they were nowhere to be seen. This place usually has many tench feeding and there are bubbles to be seen everywhere but for some reason today it was completely devoid of them. I tried putting pellets in which last time got the swim fizzing and bubbleing like crazy, but nothing happened. Tried some sweetcorn and yet nothing again. That was the whole day, nothing but roach, rudd and a few ide. What i want to know is what exactly do you all think was going on? it wasn't the best of weather, i know that, but when i washed my hands in the water at the end of the session i noticed the water was warm even to my touch (which seemed strange), and so thought that the temperature of the water couldn't be a factor. Also, on such days like these, are there any miracle cures?
  17. Anybody out there from Lancashire who's knows of some decent fisheries (other than shitty Bradshaws)?
  18. Id never heard that blobs were this lethal so cheers for the free tips ogbourne. I'll be buying myself a handful of these next time i take myself fishing and have a proper good time. Mite even have a bong and a beer on the bankside just to show how yobbish i feel
  19. I wonder who or what mechanical deveice ties the knots in the ready made hooks to nylon? Something iv'e never thought of before but i am bored.
  20. I need a new leader and was chatting to an old chap who said i'd do o.k to get a "mill end", i dont know eactly what this means but he said u can pick them up for under 8 quid from certain places and they're just as good as many others out there. What exacly are these "mill ends"and where can i get one?
  21. nah, not really, its suspected the British Public on the whole owe a mass of over 3 trillion to banks e.t.c, now thats a lot of money, considering that there are only 60 million of us here (give or take a good few hundred thousand lol) , it's not all that suprising when taking into consideration that 10% of the British people own 90% of the cash and resources here i.e, company propriotors and such a like (no wonder the rich keep getting richer and the poor are gettin poorer). That queen, she knicks a good few bob off us all as well, {admin note: remainder deleted}
  22. Bloody hell, i wondered who's plug that was, i'll send it to you in the post bud o.j lol, i'm pretty sure the hooks would have disolved by the time the pike was ever caught again.iv'e never caught on a plug or lure but i wudn't mind betting that its a pretty decent way to fish
  23. I'm off this week and hoping to get some decent sessions in, just hoping that the weather behaves. is anyone else off on any trips?
  24. Can't say i dont agree with you about the public perception, i work at a brewers fayre on the bar and sometimes find it hard how to act with young children as i dont know what people may think if i seem to friendly. Bad really but thats how a lot of people feel i think. Now that people are complaining that there are'nt enough male teachers in our schools i cant actually say they'll ever be able to change this easily as its a touchy subject (no punn intended.) But yeah.....dont quite know how i managed to change the subject from poles nabbing fish but there you go lol
  25. Keep fishing mate, it'll happen at some point lol, and it is annoying. I suppose thats the enticing element of fishing though. It wouldn't be the sport it is if it was to always go the anglers way
