ok, so im new to coarse fishing, and after lakes ive decided to try my hand at river fishing. i quite fancy some barbel and chub! ive had a pop with a swim feeder and red maggot and got perch. anybody got any handy tips for river fishing? things i should be looking out for? any ideas on baits? natural is best im guessing, any help in any shape is appreciated! thanks alot in advance, Gaz

Manvelles lake in walgrave, its not far from kettering, off the a43 between northampton and kettering. thats good for tench, the bottom lake is especially, upto 6lb the owner tells me. theres a mix bag lake with tench in too. fish on teh banks of the islands on the tench lake, he feeds them halibut pellet on the banks. luncheon meat and sweetcorn seems to work well.
