  2. I blame the Romans, what have they ever done for us?

All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?

  3. Unions who destroyed the mining industryit was the bloody Torys and the Steele industry remember those poor Nottinghamshire miners maggy stabbed them right in the back and unions destroyed mining a****s you worked down a pit Chesters you want to try it sometime again your living in the past so if you dont like it on yer bike it works both ways unions are there for variety of reasons to protect your rights and represent you legally if needed so an employer can bully somebody dont say it doesnt happen it happens all the time in the workplace unions in Nissan and many many other workplaces round the uk work in great harmony with the management in very successful companys i have seen those people who hate unions cry like a baby when told they are going down the road like everyone else when its your turn to get the bullet whether your in a union your or not your P45 awaits somehow those who hate unions think they are somehow invisibility when they are not and are just like everyone in the workplace just a number .

Unions, waste of time. Out for themselves,

  4. Don't forget, just a few years ago French stonemasons, architects et al built a medieval castle from scratch, using only techniques available centuries ago. I'm sure many of the people who worked on the castle will be employed in the rebuilding of Notre Dam. Plus they'll help to bring up another generation of craftsmen helping on the project.

Five years seems too short a time though, I'm saying more like 10 years minimum to finish all the work. After all, work is still going on at York Minster after it suffered a fire over 10 years ago.

    The Chateau de Guedelon

Im sure that it was screened on the History Channel ?

  5. Thankfully the main structure and most of the artworks inside were saved. Will take years to repair, but there are still specialist carpenters and masons etc around with the "olde worlde" skills to bring it back to the way it was.

I can do the leadwork for them, 1.500euro a day plus board and lodgings and transport,

  6. It brought back memories of this, I remember going over to see the devastation.

I wonder what's the French equivalent of 'Blue Peter'?

I see Trump gave a well thought out piece of advice, 'bomb' it with aerial water tankers.

The reply from the French was , ' that could bring the whole structure down'!

We were there a few days before the fire visiting my parents who lived nearby.

  7. And now the filthy piece of scum has been granted legal aid to fight her case

The ISIS bride is receiving taxpayers money to pay for a legal bill which could run into hundreds of thousands of pounds, The Daily Mail reported. The Legal Aid Agency (LAA) agreed the decision which has been branded the decision as “disgusting” and “ridiculous”.

While living in the Syrian city of Raqqa, she married a Dutch jihadi named Yago Riedijk with whom she had three children.

All have since died from malnutrition and infection.

She allegedly stitched suicide bombers into explosive vests and carried an AK-47.
