  1. Thanks for the welcome, used to be an artic driver so I know my way around your area! Regards, Steve
  2. Thanks Newt. That guy lived in the same town as me.
  3. Hi There, I live in Tamworth and I am a level 1 NFA coach. I moved here the end of September after living in Grimsby for 18 months. I have been advertising on here for a fishing buddy.(look in the newbies section) I am a full time foster carer and I have teenagers in my care at the moment who also want to learn to fish. I have been fishing for over 30 years plus so if you want to send me an email I will ring you and we can meet up. I don't know everything but I can assure you I can show you the basics and have a laugh at the same time. Don't worry about tackle, I have enough to open a shop, (you need it with 4 teenagers) and we can cover any kind of fishing that takes your fancy, including fly! I have loads of time, as I am semi retired, if you work shifts etc.... Regards, Steve B steve@fishing4kidz.org.uk
  4. Hi Newt, Yep sorry but my funds won't stretch to flying to the USA for my fishing. A little bit of BS is OK for a laugh but I have been with a few idiots who talk a good fishing trip but don't know one end of a rod from the other. Does this forum cover the UK as well?? Regards, Steve.
  5. Hi All, I am looking for a fishing buddy around the Tamworth Area. I have just moved back here after 18 months living in Grimsby!!! I watched a film called "The Bucket List" and decided to do my own list. (No I am not dying but my dad is from cancer!!!) I have done the Scuba Diving bit of the list and now moving onto the fishing part. I am thinking along the lines of the Mick Brown and Matt Hayes partnership on telly!!! I am semi retired at 51, bored out of my tiny mind, (a full time foster carer) and I have been coarse fishing on and off for the past 30 years. I am an NFA level 1 coach. (mainly to teach the foster kids the basics). I am looking for someone to go fishing with who is a good all rounder (or willing to improve their skills by trial and error) into ALL fishing including Fly. (not too keen on sea fishing but will have a go). I have spent a lot of money on "guided" fishing trips but fancy doing my own thing. The person must have a good sense of humour, willing to pursue all species on a whim, can teach me to fly fish ( I can cast but only just) and tie flys OR fancies a laugh learning, and have plenty of time on their hands. I would prefer to find someone who is not full of bulls**t, and is willing to share all expenses but we won't spend if we can help it!. I can supply transport and will travel anywhere to achieve my targets, some of them are: Catch a large Zander Catch a large Pike Catch a grayling on the Fly AND Trotting. Go river Fly Fishing for wild brownies and reservoir fishing. Catch a double figure Barbel (on the Severn?) Email me and I will send you my mobile number or you can send yours. steve@fishing4kidz.org.uk
