The first real autumn weather meant the fishing was patchy, with cold still conditions prevailing on Bridge & Willow pools at Blythe Waters for the Angling Trust and Canal and River Trust Stillwater Championship final on Saturday 17th October 2015.   3. What a brilliant and fair sectioned RiverFest qualifier match it was on the River Severn at Shrewsbury on 18th October 2015 with near perfect conditions.   4. The Angling Trust RiverFest qualifier on the Warwickshire Avon at Eckington was held on Saturday 17th October. Mark Lloyd, Chief Executive of the Angling Trust & Fish Legal, has been appointed to join the BBC’s Rural Affairs Advisory Committee, an influential body that provides advice and feedback on BBC output across all broadcast platforms, and in particular programmes dealing with rural, agricultural and environmental issues. He has replaced a representative of the commercial sea fishing industry who has recently left the Committee. This is the first time that angling has ever been represented at this level.   9. The Angling Trust and Matchroom Sport have announced the dates for Fish O Mania XXIII qualifiers and final. The 2016 competition will feature 28 qualifiers, an increase of 12 on previous years with 19 venues to be used throughout the competition. 4,380 tickets will be available to anglers as they try to add their name to the illustrious list of previous winners by taking the prestigious title of Fish ‘O’ Mania winner and scooping a cool £50,000 in the process.   11. The Riverfest qualifier was fished by 57 anglers on the Thames on the Medway and Channel sections.   12. The RiverFest qualifier on the River Trent at Burton on Trent was held on Sunday 27th September 2015 with a roach bonanza recorded on Sherratts Farm section. The top ten weights were all roach on waggler and maggot. There were odd double figures on the other sections, and very patchy. Click here to view the full article. Team England Fly Fishing locked horns once again with Scotland, Ireland and Wales in the International Fly Fishing Association Loch Style Autumn International on 18th September 2015 at Lake of Menteith in Scotland. Twelve angling clubs, a charity and a council-run fishery have successfully bid for a share of £50,000 funding available to projects in England aimed at getting more juniors to take up fishing and protecting fish stocks from predation. The winning projects will receive cash from the second round of the Angling Improvement Fund, administered by the Angling Trust and funded with rod licence income from the Environment Agency.
