  1. Many stretches of the river Lea are free as it runs through north London on its way down to the Thames.

If its a lake you are after, there is fishing on Hampstead Heath lakes.

See link below for a leaflet you can download on fishing on the heath:

    http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/Corporation...+recreation.htm

If it's a reservoir you are after, then Wathamstow reservoir isn't a million miles away, though that'll cost you a bit and the water could be quite large and daunting.

    Many thanks.

  4. I know this has been covered before, but since I'm new to 'centrepinning' I would be interested in finding out what everyone else uses and how (float/ledgering etc).

    Many thanks. :)

  5. I am new to fishing too, but I find these forums very helpful. They are a fountain of information and if you can't find the answer in the old topics you can always post a new question. :)

  6. That's an ABU Suveran. There no longer made and seem to be very sought after nowadays. They stopped making them as they where to expensive to produce apparantlycosting £160 to buy. I have two of the 1000 models (the smaller model). Some people reckon there the best reel ever made and they seem to have quite a reputation. If you look up "last man standing abu suveran surftalk" on Google, it's an article all about the reel.

Thanks for the quick reply Tigger.

  7. Hello, I'm a 46 year old mother of 2 lively boys. I mainly fly fish for trout on both still water and rivers (when I can).

Both my boys (especially the 8 year old) enjoy fishing, hence me joining this forum - for tips and advice.
