Cheers Terry, I thought it must be something like that, just didn't know what species it was referring to. Catching anything to keep my son interested at the moment is good, as early days for him and fishing.

Just put "pasties" into Wikipedia to find out what the angling section in local newspaper is actually referring to as not heard of this term before. Not quite the answer I was looking for but might be fun to catch a few when haven't got my son with me and puts the article in a diffent light when it reads that "pasties are starting to show" !!!!! Can anyone enlighten me as to the fishing version and get this image I have out of my head? Gary

Hi I have just returned to fishing from 20+ years absence as my son has expressed in interest in taking it up. Have managed to get some basic gear from freecycle, ebay etc. Looking to pick up tips on whats changed and how's best to getting him "hooked" on the sport. Looking to keep costs down to start with incase he gets bored with it. Took him a couple of times to our local commercial during the recent half term and had relative sucess. 22 and 27 in two hours each time, only small roach/perch and 1 fair tench, but kept him interested. Any tips on gear or fisheries in the West Norfolk area greatly appreciated Thanks Gary
