  1. I have very occasionally foul hooked a trout when retrieving a nymph, but this year I have had a series of trout foul hooked when fishing a buzzer either static or at a very slow (inches per minute) rate of retrieve. Most were hooked in the side of the head or near the dorsal fin. This is rather putting me off buzzers but I remain baffled by it. Has anyone any suggestions about what is happening? Does this happen to anyne else? I can only guess the trout maybe butt the buzzer to investigate it. This is at a water where catch & release is common, so there are some wary trout about

    20" BROWNIE

I caught a super brown trout yesterday on a buzzer yesterday - 20" long from nose to the fork of the tail; seemed in superb condition and had perfect fins. I was fishing catch & release and after unhooking in the water it went off like a rocket. My question is - what did it weigh? I can guess, but does anyone have a table of weights to lengths for trout?
