  3. hello everyone, this was a brill day, for myself and , of course, gray. personally i take full responsibility for grays p.b as i was the one who made us go to hazel court. the jedi(fishing)master had tried always to convince me to go elsewhere, but the apprentice once again proved that he does know best!!! and although i beat him on our little competition with a record for me of 57 fish, mostly rudd, but including my tench. as a point to note a tench of that size makes you think, in the first instance that you have a small carp on the line, there was none of that familier juddering on the rod, just constant pulling, anyway just thought i would put my ten penneth worth. seriously well done oh great one you deserved it, but watch out the apprentice is starting to learn and next time it could be me(ha-ha) cheers mate it was fun [ 22 May 2002, 10:02 PM: Message edited by: carpnabber ]

  5. hi mate, in reply to your question, i,ve used pop-ups on my last 3 trips and can honestly say its been about fifty/fifty with regards on sucsess on bites and actually hooking.( this only worked on carp, as a point to note.)i think it was worth the £1.75 odd that i paid for them, just to have them in my tackle box, and i generally try them out if things are slow. go for it mate, as they say it cant do no harm. all the best

  9. gray catch-pole, thanks to your genuine desire to get me interested into coarse fishing my wife hates me. no not really but all thanks must go to gray for showing me the correct way and attitude with which to take up fishing. he has patiently(i think so, anyway)given up his valued time when we have been out, to step by step show me knots, feeders, different baits and all the numerous items of interest involved in fishing.i,ve even gone to the extreme of buying my own rod and reel, thanks mate, more expense. thanks to gray the coarse fishing world has one more fanatic. once again thanks mate
