  1. Hi Everyone, I hope you have had a good year so far fishing and achieved some personal bests in your catches. I would need your feedback, suggestions and help on my iPhone and Android Fishing venue apps – iFindfishing. If you haven’t already downloading and using the iFindFishing apps for Android and iPhone, please could you download them from the Apple app Store and Android Market here: Android App - http://market.android.com/details?id=com.h...ch.ifindfishing iPhone App - http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ifindfishing/id372352004?mt=8 Could I ask you to start the app up and go through it with a fine tooth comb. Please suggest any bugs or issues and most of all post your feedback. Is there anything you would like added to the apps? Many many thanks for all your help . Kind Regards, Jean Med Creations www.ifindfishing.com www.findfishingapp.com
  2. Just to give everyone any update. I have launched a front end website that allows people without a smartphone or iPhone to browse our database of venues on your PC: www.ifindfishing.com (still in beta, and we are aware of some small bugs, so be gentle ) We also have a full update coming out of the find fishing iPhone app that will have a new graphics overhaul and a new weather feature that will give you a five day weather forecast for each venue. We will also be making the app free with unobtrusive small adverts on only a few areas of the app. This update is set to launch in the next few weeks on the Apple App Store. Hope it's useful to some of you. Happy fishing! Jean
  3. Hi Chaps, (Elton, I hope it's ok for me to update the forum on my new Fishing venue locator website) We have just released a front end website that takes all the venues from our FindFishing and iFly Fishing iphone app that some of you may have downloading onto your iPhones. It shows all the info that you need to find day tickets venues around you. www.ifindfishing.com I hope you find it useful - any feedback that would help improve the website would be appreciated. Cheers, Jean
  4. Hi Everyone, Just to give you a heads up, we are releasing an update to the App in the next day or so that has some little features: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/find-fishing/id372352004?mt=8 - Tackle shops are now available to search - You can now take photo comments and add them to your favorite venues to help others. - Add Venue has been fixed. Any other features would you like? We can try add these. Thank you for your support.
  5. Hi Elton, Agreed. The radius will change in the next update to no longer reflect "unlimited" as this is too heavy on a low signal - 3G is fine but bringing back over 1000 entries (and growing!) on anything lower is slower. Therefore to answer your question - we will change the miles to better reflect all fishing methods i.e. Sea charters. Any help in getting this publicized in the fishing community is a great help!
  6. Thanks Boss! I hope it'll be worth your while as it has taken a lot of man hours to get the venue database and especially the app coding to all hang together OK. We are now working on version 1.6 code with iOS 4 crystal clear graphics and the addition of other search abilities. It will also go worldwide from the next version.
  7. Hi everyone, Our Find Fishing App has just been approved and is now live on the apple app store (please note, we are aware of the outdated screenshot issue and this will be resolved shortly): http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/find-fishing/id372352004?mt=8 if anyone buys the app - please email any feedback to support@findfishingapp.com Thanks everyone for your help and support.
  8. Hi Everyone, Thank you so much for input. I shall answer all questions and comments to that have replied so far: 1. The research has been done and I have found there seems to be a need for an app like this even on a basic level like tackle shops, but I have to be honest it is important to ask you the members because you guys are the ones that need this to be useful. If I can catch important features now, then these may be incorporated in an early release. 2. @ Rich Jones - The map you see on the webpage is just a [very] small sample of only the south east and south west England. Find Fishing will cover the entire UK and islands in a likely concentration seen in the sample screenshot. When I mean small, I thought this would be easy information to get, small is 400 venues and we are now on over 1000 with probably another 2500 to go. Expect around 1000+ Coarse and Fly Fishing venues, 600+ Tackle shops and 350+ Sea Charters on release with more added every day. The app also allows you to contribute and add you own venues for others to enjoy using the inbuilt GPS locator. 3. @ Rob - Unfortunately this will be only available for the iPhone initially, then Android based phones soon to follow depending on the popularity. I am sorry that we cannot accommodate all platforms, but these apps tend to be pretty expensive on cross platforms and takes months and moths of development -If there is a need then we can always investigate other platforms. 4. @ Stuart Wright - (just caught your edit - thanks ) - I agree and I thought of this, but myself being a mad fisherman and will fish whenever possible with some type of rod in my car at all times. This seemed like a solution to my own problems. Whether it's trying to find a tackle shop, find a fly fishing venue or even just a canal to drop a line, this app would make my life easier. Find Fishing iPhone App in the first release will have a review system and the ability for you to comment on your catches for the day at a particular venue, to get you to your swim, locate venues you never knew existed, take you to top up maggots or lug worms and share your experiences with others. Please, I ask you all to continue to comment and add your thoughts. It will only help to develop something that will be very useful to everyone. Thanks again for taking the time to comment and I look forward to adding more features -
  9. Posted with Eltons permission Hi Anglers' Net forum members, I wanted to get all your input on an IPhone app that will be released on the Apple app store in the next week or two. To give you an idea of the app - here is a brief and the web address: "Find Fishing makes it as easy as possible to find your fishery close to you or near a specified postcode. You will be able to check where your closest fishing venue is and then get turn by turn directions through our built in google maps API." Website: http://www.findfishingapp.com/ Here are the questions: 1. Do you own a IPhone or a Smartphone? 2. Do you plane to get an IPhone or a Smartphone in the next 6 months? 3. Would you find this app useful? 4. Would you pay for this app? 5. If so what would be a reasonable price - 59p, 99p, £1.50, £1.99, £2.99. 6. Preferred fishing - coarse fishing / fly fishing. 7. other comments? Thank you Elton for allowing this thread and a great thanks to all the members for your input.
